First time I have raced a 10 mile distance, 2 laps of the course which is a mixture of villages and a stretch along the side of a dual carriageway. Not a great deal of support but the marshals were all friendly and encouraging. Start at finish at the school is easy to find and plenty of space to change, go to the loo etc. Nice bespoke finisher bag, would do it again.

Thanks Tony that's nice feedback. In race's peak of the 1980's we had up to 900 runners, but then numbers gradually fell in the 90's and early 00's. This year and last years attendance figures represent a good step in the right direction, as does the increased competition at the front. So thank you again for the kind comments, we have fantastic and dedicate team behind the race, making sure all our runners have a good. Hope you can join us again next year. P.s. 1:25 for a vet 60....Great going!!
Have run this race twice now and its got better each time. Its a well organised 2 lap course over a flat route ideal for a PB for a beginner at this distance.
Not a course for those wanting great views as it goes a long a few main roads.
Good race HQ, plenty of parking and toliets, on site coffee and snakes avialable.
It does attract some top runners.

The 10miles takes the form of two 5 mile loops. The course isn't the most creative, and the roads aren't really closed so expect to spend a lot of time on the pavement or side of the road.

Thank you for taking the time to review our race, David. The course is designed to be PB and beginner friendly rather than interesting, but yes fair comment. We are also limited by geography. Road closures; yes it would be better if we could do that. But as an athletics club which relies on the income from this event, we've not yet reached a point where we can afford that. Hopefully, one day in the future we'll be able to do that, as we look to continually grow the event. Thank you for running our event, we hope you come back in the future. Good luck with your running.
