This was my second time of running in this race. It continues to be an unusual race, in that it is not closed to traffic. This means stopping at every road interesection and set of traffic lights. It also entails weaving in and out of busy commuters at peak time. All of this adds to the character of the race which is held to raise funds for men’s cancer charities. It’s an unusual course but you get to see so many London landmarks. I look forward to next year’s race.

This was a charity race in aid of fighting men’s cancer.

The start and finish were in Paternoster Square behind St Paul’s Cathedral. What a setting! The route continued along the side of the Thames and up to Westminster and back - including a small loop for the 10k runners. Plenty of landmarks to be seen, including Scotland Yard.

The uniqueness of this race that it was on open roads. Competitors had to stop at traffic lights and road junctions! We also had to battle against London commuters (it was 6.30 in the evening.) There were several large school groups to negotiate, as well. Some wanting high fives and some just generally disinterested teens!

All of this was advertised by the organisers, so no complaints. In fact it added to the uniqueness and quirkiness of the event.

Plenty of support and the end and all for a good cause. I really enjoyed it!

Charity event two laps along the Thames between Westminster and Tower Bridge. Some wonderful views on an evening - very memorable. Not closed roads, and some pavements were highly congested - although that didn’t detract from the fun. Quite a fast route in reality. Well org...
