Honestly, this event was amazing. We was blessed with perfect weather and the day couldn't have gone any better. Having never competed in a marathon or trial run before (never mind an ultra), I was a complete newbie and a little out my depth but the event was so well organised and setup this wasn't a problem. The event staff were phenomenal and made the event a lot of fun. Already signed up to the Exmoor ultra, so I will see you all next May!

Such a tough course but so worth it! Stunning views throughout. I was very impressed with the waymarking, very reassuring for those sections where you're running alone. The marshals were cheery and supportive. There was a bit of a slow section on the first ascent when Short and Middle course runners were together, and it was hard to get past without wading through bog, but I think that's really just the nature of the course.. And given that I wasn't planning to break any records anyway it didn't bother me too much. I loved how well stocked the outposts were - being a slower runner, it is very disheartening to reach a feed station and find most of the supplies have gone, but there was lots here to boost energy and morale - the watermelon was particularly welcome! Overall, a nice, relaxed atmosphere but a very well organised race on an amazing route. Thank you so much.

Really great event! Beautiful course, well marked and well organised. My only comment is that if the aid station isn’t by a public toilet, it would be good to have 1 or 2 port-a-loos

This is a great race. The course is very tough, with the obvious bottle necking up the first climb then no issues thereafter as you tend to spread out. Well marked, well stocked and the team were fabulous. Pizza at the end an absolute must from the man in the van!! Highly recomm...

This is a great race. The course is very tough, with the obvious bottle necking up the first climb then no issues thereafter as you tend to spread out. Well marked, well stocked and the team were fabulous. Pizza at the end an absolute must from the man in the van!! Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a challenge but make sure your downhill legs are working!!! Tough up and down. Loved every minute of it!

A slick and well organised event , with an excellent varied and challenging Ultra course that really showed cased what the lake District is all about. Being an competitive older runner I was slightly disappointed that there weren't any age category prizes to race for. However being able to down load the event phots more that made up for this and they will provide a great memory of a great day running in such a special place.

Great event. The course is fabulous and quite challenging in parts (some steep rocky ascents / descents in places). The way marking is brilliant so you cannot get lost. Essentially 5k of trail, 5k of steep up/down (which takes a lot longer than you think), 10k of lovely firetrack...

Great event. The course is fabulous and quite challenging in parts (some steep rocky ascents / descents in places). The way marking is brilliant so you cannot get lost. Essentially 5k of trail, 5k of steep up/down (which takes a lot longer than you think), 10k of lovely firetrack down the Langdale valley and a steep lump in the last 5k. Medal is great too. Recommended!

People at the checkpoints were really friendly and helpful. Loved the selection of fruits. What could be improved - I think you needed to do a kit bag check. I saw one runner just wearing a race belt on the ultra, no water, no waterproofs, nothing. Another runner had a bag but it was empty except for his phone. It has to be a fair playing field for everyone from the elite down to the novice. Apart from that, course was tough but nothing wrong with that! Would have been nice to have water at the end of the race.
