Hi Coen, thanks for the feedback. I don't suppose you can remember where you missed the turns? Thanks again.
Nice event this one, very undulating and some steep climbs along the way, halfway to being a ‘Brutal’ run (just without the water)
Thanks for the brownies and flapjacks at the end, always a nice little bonus on AAT events.

This is genuinely my favourite race of the year and i fully intend to do it again next year.
As its name suggests this race will hurt you due to all the hills, but the atmosphere of the race, the scenery and the marshalls make it a really good event.
You won't get a PB on this course but the race is through a great area of the country with a great view from one of the hills and is all off road.
It's great that the organisers put on three different distances for people to be able to choose what they are most comfortable with.
The organisation is great and everyone is very friendly with big cheers for the finishers.
I think they could do with a few more facilities as the race numbers seem to be going up.
The chocolate brownies at the end are amazing.

Hi Alan, thanks for the perfect review!
The Hurt came highly recommended by friends who had run it before and it did not disappoint.
Everything was easy on arrival, no confusion about where to park and registration was straightforward. Portaloos and a coffee stand were available.
The start line was in the car park field, so no need for a bag drop if you’d arrived in a car and no schlepping for ages.
The canicross (very excited and noisy) set off first, followed by the 21k, then 10k and then the 5k.
Simply a beautiful trail run and yes, the hills really meant it and we were all walking up them.
There was one slightly sticky moment whereby there was a fluorescent sign warning us of a slippery descent. Because of this we were all staring at the ground all the way down to the bottom. This meant we missed the eye level arrow. We got to the bottom and found a sign saying that if we were here we had gone too far and should turn around. So this indicates the organisers were aware of the possibility of this, so perhaps next time there should also be an arrow at ankle level as well as eye level. At least 30 of us did this, so we can’t all be wrong. Having to turn back meant uphill, so we got a bit more cardio in!
The marshals were great as ever and the medal was bright and colourful. In true aat style there were brownies on offer at the end.
I wouldn’t hesitate to take part again, it was great.

Hi Nicola, Thank you for the brilliant review and feedback. We hope to see you again next year for the Hurt 2019!
Super tough course, but well organised and great fun. My only concern was that it was hard to hear the race briefing unless you were right at the front. Megaphone or PA may be?

Hi Dave, glad to hear you enjoyed it so much and thank you for the great review! We hope to see you again next year.
Great day, very difficult course. Did the 21km - would prefer to do a full 21km than 2 x 10.5km as I was too tempted to stop at 10.5km!! But I appreciate logistically harder to manage. Would recommend this to anyone after a challenge. I chose it as part of my training for the Two Oceans marathon in Cape Town next April.
