The works along the normal route resulted in a revised route for the May race, this worked well as we were able to enjoy the post run facilities at bayside cafe. June was postponed til September so race ended in darkness and it was a walk from car park to collect race numbers an...

The works along the normal route resulted in a revised route for the May race, this worked well as we were able to enjoy the post run facilities at bayside cafe. June was postponed til September so race ended in darkness and it was a walk from car park to collect race numbers and then back after the race ended.( Not ideal as no one hung around afterwards ) July and August on the revised start location. Hopefully 2025 works will be completed or new location may be better to cover the race ( ? parkrun route in Lee on the Solent or Fareham parkrun route ) This would ensure facilities pre and post run to use.

Lovely race. Enthusiastic RD and well marshalled. Fantastic HQ for food and coffee afterwards. Normal route is a quick out and back and the summer 2024 revised route is also great fun. Highly recommend for anyone of all abilities.

There goes another series and didn’t see a spectacular sunset once! Summer Series? Weather aside, nothing can dampen the friendly party atmosphere of the series finale. Lots of smiles, all abilities and ages represented including a decent front end. Topped off by the local sponso...

We’ve had it all in this series. Rain, heat and tonight, wind. We also had the quickest front end for several years and a Duke Of Edinburgh Award candidate achieving her 5K target. Fabulous local support from the Absolute 545 RunClub. I had to sit this one out and Marshall due to my Granddaughter’s 6th Birthday party but it was great to watch.

A seasonal favourite that I always felt didn’t quite live up to its potential as the flattest,fastest and friendliest 5K series in the area. Bizarrely, with weather conditions to scare penguins, the 1st race enjoyed a healthy turnout of juniors for the 1K and adults for the main event with a strong front end & every age group besides. Even hardy supporters turned out to make noise & take photos. The overwhelming feeling once it was over was ‘ great fun. Bring on Race 2.’ See you in May.

With the weather playing it’s part, we got a cracking finale to the series and series winner James Baker finally got a race. Great to see all abilities represented and some really strong age group performances. This series has it all and is so family friendly. See you next year.
