Penultimate aid station had run out of Coke 2. Flags/markings seemed to disappear towards the end through the woods. Got bit concerned i'd gotten lost but they soon reappeared.

I ran the 62k solo for the first time - my first ultra over 50k (though have done RTTK and RTTS 100k weekenders) - as this was billed as "beginner friendly". To be honest, as a slower runner I wasn't impressed. The promoted "free meal and drink" at the end was completely worthless as all the stalls had packed up and gone by the time I finished (9h 30m) - shame, seeing as slower runners probably needed something decent to eat just as much having been out there for a long time. Obviously it wasn't worth the vendors time to stay around for the later arrivals, but this is something that should be considered next year as it really makes you feel like a burden rather than a welcome participant. The course seemed to deviate by quite a distance from the GPX that was sent out in a couple of places, though it was pretty well marked. I did make one wrong turn on autopilot but soon noticed and backtracked. The aid stations, although nice to have them every ~10k, had enough but no variety. Just orange segments, watermelon, some loose dry tortilla chips, and a few chocolate brownie bits. I may have seen a gel once, but not everywhere. The fruit was welcome but I'd have liked some more savoury/salty or sweet options. Marshalls were on the whole pretty friendly and helpful. Would I run this again? Maybe. But only if I could do it an hour or two quicker.

This is the second year I have ran The Fox Ultra. And both years it has been an excellent event. The event has been very well organised: the course is very well marked with little red flags and the aid stations are are regular intervals (approximately 10k apart). Also, the finish at The Burys Field in Godalming has a number of mobile food and drink stalls, which is perfect for your post-race needs. I would definitely recommend this event (or one of its smaller versions - 20k or 41k) and I will definitely be running it again.

Wonderfully organised trail 20km. The start had plenty of free parking and good setup to start the run. Course was beautiful and very well marked out and marshalled. Aid station was good and staff running it were very helpful. The finish was perhaps not in the easiest place for parking and being met by family/supporters but it was an amaing feeling cross the line. A wonderful addition to supply a free food and drink voucher as part of the entry although my only comment about that would be the pizzas had a wait time of an hour!!I but was a lovely idea and food and drink was just what I needed at the end of the run. This was my first proper trail run and will definetly be back to do another. excellent and thank you

A fabulous route through varied terrains, ably supported with well-placed aid stations and a well marked course. The trail sections were brilliant, and I'm very pleased with my professional photo memento as I descended joyfully through a woodland holloway. We covered over half of the Fox Way and a quarter of the River Wey footpath, offering memorable views that I was very tempted to stop and photograph. A tasty halloumi wrap and beer at the end topped off a thoroughly enjoyable event. Thank you for making my first ultra so enjoyable! I'm not normally into medals and tshirts, but I am a fan of the wooden medal and overall approach to an eco-friendly event. This is another reason I'll be coming back. Staff and volunteers were accessible, professional and friendly throughout. Particularly when refilling water bottles and on any road crossings. The PDF guide and GPX files are perfectly informative and comprehensive, but as a last minute transfer I found the pre-event communication very good. Event logistics were smooth, with bib number replacements (due to Royal Mail delays) efficiently dealt with.

Brilliant trail 20km. Well marked course. Start had plentiful free parking and was well marshalled. Course was beautiful and memorable. Finish was in Godalming town centre park and was brilliant. A wonderful touch to supply a free food and drink voucher as part of the entry. I ended up with a free 12” pizza and a pint, just what the dr ordered after a hard run. Plenty of marshalls and staff on the ground to organise everything. Well done all!

Great day and many highlights Indy off it was so hot. I mean very very hot. Well done to everyone running, marshalling or spectating. Course was very good with a mix of all types of terrain Start area was very well organised and I did the 41km Aid stations were superb. Lots of food, lots of drink, and the Marshall’s were so helpful. From filling my water bottles to making sure I had everything I needed. So good Finish area was excellent and really well organised and a bonus to have a voucher for a drink and some food. Two minor points. The course marking did have its issues. Many left and right turns didn’t have arrow direction signs whereas some did. Need to be consistent in this. When I crossed the line and checked the results my number had been allocated to another runner. Not good. It got sorted but shouldn’t have happened I would highly recommend this event it was just so good I will be back next year to do it again Another great RunThrough event. Thanks.
