The nice work website clearly states it is mostly flat with PB potential! This is simply not the case. Although a large portion on the promenade is flat, it starts with an incline and there is a horrible hill just after mile 12 which is extremely steep and long… more people walked this hill rather than ran! The aid stations was plastic cups. If you’re going to use plastic then use bottles! Plastic cups are a nightmare. There was also not many big bins to throw the cups in when you was finished so either drink it straight away or hold on to the cup until you see a public bin! The course is very open to the elements so be aware when booking and this also effects any PB potential! No local support and the roads that you go on are (mostly) not closed! The rest of the course which is on the promenade or paths are shared with the public as well No finishing arch. Just a bottle of water at the finished! Not enough toilets, I didn’t count exactly but there was maybe 8 portoloos The medal was excellent and stands out!

I was attracted to this race due to route being along the Kent coastline. Despite a steep hill at miles 1 and 12 the remainder of the course was flat.

This year was a particularly hot one and sadly water stations fell short of delivering what was needed, that said it was a fun race with the most perfect of sea views. Numbers of participants good and locals came out in force.

Absolutely love this race. Great start and finish on the leas (outside the Grand where I got married). Flat run along the sea then a killer of a hill at mile 12 but completely makes the race!
