I felt having the medal put around your neck literally as soon as you went over the chip line was a little to much. Let the races catch their breath first, a little space between finish & collecting your medal I think would would great moving forward.

I reviewed last years alcohol change/dry January run as a five star event and it’s the same this year. From the communication before, keeping us informed on all the little extras to the emails straight after thanking us for taking part. It’s well organised, friendly, fun and welcomes everyone. I nearly withdrew this year as I’d not been able to run for over five months due to an injury but I’m glad I took part, as I say everyone is welcome what ever time you can complete it in. I just plodded along at the back and received a big welcome when I finished. Anyone considering the run should give it a go, there are two choices, a 5k and a 10k. The DJ and alcohol free drinks will be there when you finish !

This past Sunday was my first organized run in a while. The Dry January 10k has a couple of great options for 5km and 10km runners to take part in, which is great for those with mixed abilities and made me feel really comfortable taking part. The course itself is mostly flat and goes around a nice lake with friendly locals cheering you on. The team on hand, Alcohol Change UK, were amazing and provided me with one of their branded t-shirts for the run and a nice selection of post run drinks. This is such a fun event to be a part of and after the experience I had this Sunday, I will be exploring the other running events they do throughout they year too.
