The Druid Challenge was my first ever multi-day event back in 2022, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I have to come back every year! The organisation is absolutely exceptional, and you’re looked after in every possible way: in the build-up, on the start line, and throughout the entire weekend. There’s always someone ready to help, and nothing is ever too much trouble. I adore the Ridgeway, and any excuse to be back on it is a gift. But what truly makes this event unforgettable is the camaraderie. The people, the atmosphere, the shared challenge. I’ve made so many amazing friends through this race. It’s honestly impossible to fault. XNRG create an environment that feels like one big, welcoming family, and that’s exactly why so many of us return year after year. A huge thank you to Neil, Anna, Shannon, and the whole XNRG team. You make this event what it is.

This is always one of my favourite races on the ultra calendar and I have been returning time and time again - for 13 years! Always friendly faces, super supportive crew and volunteers and a really supportive, community feel - the XNRG family! Everything is taken care of - registration, food, inspiring evening talks, transport and brilliant aid stations. The overnight stay in the hall is great fun and there is more than enough food for hoards of hungry ultra runners.

Well stocked aid stations, easy route finding and ample aid on course. Having no cut offs makes the event super inclusive for walkers and runners; a race i go back to year after year.

This has been a firm favourite over the years, especially when we are lucky with the weather (as we were this time). Race markings are only deployed when needed to supplement the official Ridgeway signage, checkpoints well-stocked and well-managed, and the sense of being looked after extends beyond the trail to the overnight stops and even the post-event transport. Special congratulations to the last finishers for their determination, and to the organisers for their "no cut-off times" policy.

The Druid’s Challenge was my first multi-day ultra event and I cannot thank the organisers and volunteers enough for their support, energy and genuine enthusiasm to help get me across the finishing line. As a walker I was hours behind the last runners each day but the volunteers continued to encourage us right to the end and never made us feel that we were holding them up and they took our safety very seriously, checking in with us when we forgot to register at one of the checkpoints and had medics on hand at every point. The kindness I witnessed by everyone was amazing and the snacks provided at each of the three checkpoints was substantial. The route was fairly straightforward to follow using the Ridgeway signs but I was glad we had downloaded a map on our phone as there were just a couple of places where we had to doublecheck we were on the right path. The organisers had put up signs at various points to guide us as well and the glow sticks on the first day were really helpful when we were walking in the dark. The whole event was an incredible and positive experience.
