Hi Alex, We have double checked with the race team and nothing was packed away nor anyone stood down until the sweep marshals passed for the second time. Your point about water is a valid one and we will look to see what could be incorporated into our existing provision, should temperatures be unduly high again.

Hello Alice, Due to the complexities of trail races, we are unable to gain a UKA Certificate of Accuracy due to the terrain. All of our trail races are measured as accurately as possible using available technology such as route planners. We estimate using this that the route is 10,183 metres long. Add in the complication of a half marathon too where addition distance has to be found on both laps, and the flexibility is sadly lacking. The race is certified correctly under all official policies and requirements. Don't forget also that watches and GPS devices themselves are not reliable, particularly in heavy forestation and undulation, which Cannock Chase is renown for.
