My first event with limitlesstrails. Was the toughest half marathon I’ve ran! A beautiful course with wonderful views however there were a lot of steep ups and downs and was more of a walk / run for me. It was a self navigation event and with an OS map I managed without getting too lost however I felt there could have been a few extra signs at key turn offs. My friend got lost and tried ringing the 3 emergency numbers - 2 of those numbers were switched off and the other one no one answered- luckily she wasn’t injured but it didn’t fill me with confidence if you did have an issue on the route! It was very hot on the day - 30 degrees, and I appreciate you enter summer races knowing there is a potential for the race to be hot however there was no wiggle time with the start time which remained at 10.30, despite asking the organisers. Also this was a self navigation event which when you clicked to download the map there was a scam trying to get you to subscribe - not the event organisers fault but this could have been checked.

The event was very well managed, with guidance and help available at all times, both before and after the half marathon I took part in. The aid station was fantastic, with plenty of options to refuel, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The catering at the village hall was top-notch, with a great selection of post-run snacks and drinks. The staff there were brilliant, attentive, and welcoming. The route was incredible—tough and gruelling, but thoroughly enjoyable. I had a fantastic experience and will definitely be looking forward to taking part in another event organised by Limitless Trails. I honestly can’t think of anything that could have been improved. It was a faultless experience as far as I’m concerned.

Good event but there were a couple of logistical hiccups that could be fine-tuned for future races. Finding the path up the last hill onto the ridge and then coming off the mountain off the last hill, my GPX wouldn't work. When it finally worked again and located my position I was off course and had to run an extra 3 miles. This was annoying as there were lots of signs as we came closer to the end but I didn't need those as I knew the way back. I except that July can be hot and I have ran a number of long endurance races in 30 degrees but starting at 10.30am in 30 plus degree heat I thought was not good. When it is obvious that it will be 30 degrees plus starting earlier would have been better and safer! other events I have done allowed an earlier start when the forecast is extreme and it was extreme that day. We are not in the army, we do these events for fun and I usually enjoy them and some suffering is expected that I embrace but that heat was something else. Shouldn't there be a cut off temperature like 28 degrees or something to adjust timings?

Great new HQ for this event near the Hereford border. Beautiful landscape looking up to Offas Dyke. Once again the team looked after everyone really well. I will always recommend limitless for such a warm welcome and a friendly team. Great cp’s and post event food and refreshment...

A challenging course in beautiful scenery. The event in 2026 was on a very hot day and would have benefited with at least one extra water station, probably around the half way point. It would also have been sensible to start the events earlier, the organisers were asked to do this but I think resource constraints prevented it. As a result the half marathon took pace at the hottest point of the day. The requirement for some elements of the kit was also questionable, such as hat ,gloves and waterproof trousers. The kit checker did seem to be flexible about these on the day but by then they were in most people's bags. I personally suffered with the heat, taking 3.5 hours longer than a typical road half marathon, and I have to say the support given to me at the end was excellent. The course itself is steep ups and downs with very little chance to run as the downhills were through ferns that hid rocks. We certainly earned our medals!

There seemed to be an issue with the chip timing/results, and I was a little confused by the final placings. I couldn’t see the runner listed as the second female in any of the race photos. During the race, only one female passed us, and the back runners for the 32-miler told us at checkpoint 3 that we were sitting in 2nd and 3rd place. It was a warm day (around 30–31°C). If possible, having colder drinks or ice at the checkpoints would have been amazing. I’m not sure if that’s something that’s usually available, as this was my first trail race/ultra. I was really grateful for the water refills and the electrolytes throughout the course. The navigation map worked well on my watch. Being my first trail race, I wasn’t really sure what to expect and initially found myself looking for obvious paths. In the end, I made my own way, which turned out to be the correct route. Definitely a good lesson learned for next time!

This was my first half marathon. I really enjoyed it. The team at Limitless Trails organised a great event. I felt especially pleased about this as a newbie, but also because they were very supportive in what was very hot weather.
