I have done the sprint version of the Big T a couple of times so this year I decided to try the Enduro distance.
Brilliant organisation, enthusastic marshals and a great technical vest with the medal which was a nice change to the usual tent-sized t-shirts that I usually get at events.
The only things I didn't like were the painful floor in transistion with bare feet, the short section of dual carriagway and the marshal that told me to go to the left of the dismount line when he meant right and got annoyed with me. However, this was all cancelled out by the kindness of one of the Hot Chilli members who lent their trisuit to me when I managed to rip mine rendering the zip useless all with 5 minutes to go before getting into the pool!
I'll need to come back again to try and beat my time next year. Good job Hot Chilli Tri!

Did The Big T Triathlon Olympic Distance yesterday in the blazing sun!
The swim was in Trowbridge leisure center and was very well organised and ran very smoothly. Following the swim was a short run to a nearby tennis court where transition was based. Onto the bike with was a 2 lap course which was mostly fast and flat with a couple of slight inclines but nothing too energy zapping. Transition was well organised and ran smoothly.
The Run course was an ‘out and back’ (twice for the Olympic Distance) and to be honest was a pretty boring route although the original 2 lap route was changed at the last minute due to the recent amount of rain so the organisers couldn’t be blamed for that.
Local support for the event wasn’t too great and I could of done with a bit more support in the heat but the marshals did their best to try and keep our spirits up.
The medal & finishers t-shirt was nice and all in all a good day out and it’s a triathlon I would definitely consider doing again
