Fun race but the course was 400m short. We were penned in at the start like farm animals so no chance of getting close to the 2hour pacer like i was hoping for. Medal was poor quality, even worse than last year.

Couldnt have been that bad as you came back for another year. Not sure what you are expecting at the start, there is a start funnel and your time starts when you cross the line. Not sure what you are looking for in a medal - this was one of the most technical medals ever produced with a combination of UV print and 3D printing in bio plastic. We loved it i see you next year??

I ran this for the third time this year and very much enjoyed again however did notice this year had few issues, first one being the distance wasn't correct and although stated officially measured can't really argue with multiple people's GPS, I think I heard we should have ran further into Abington park which may be the reason it was a lot less, but it have me a quicker time so I guess it worked out better. Also previously used to give gels out at the aid station but didn't this year, there wasn't as many toilets at the start this year and also the start could do with some improvement, like other races filter into time zones this race is very much a free for all and every one squeezed into the pen. Despite the issues it is a good run, great crowds and see a lot of the town ,would recommend

Thanks Mike, I think I have covered the event distance in previous replies. There were more toilets this year than we have every had at this event. We will be adding some flags to help people get in to the right place in the funnel. Hope to see you next year

A really enjoyable half marathon with an interesting course, showcasing my local town, the event was well supported throughout, as others have said a shame it was measured short as I know several people who have ran it and no one got the full distance some people even ran extra after the finish to complete it! But if this could be fixed for next year I would defiantly recommend.

Hi Emilio as i previously mentioned in my replies the course has an official measurement certificate issued by The Association of Course Measurers, we are in discussion as to why there is a difference, your GPS will not be as accurate as a mechanically measured course. We are planning to have the course re-measured by a different measure so we can be doubly sure of the distance or make any changes as needed. We are as keen as anyone to make sure we correct any issues. Hope to see you back next year

Lastly, cups of water is not a practical way to hydrate while running. I see a lot of organisers doing this now - probably to save cost, but the organisers should put themselves in runners shoes from time to time.

As you would have seen that the course has an official measurement certificate issued by The Association of Course Measurers, we are in discussion as to why there is a difference, your GPS will not be as accurate as a mechanically measured course. At the end of the race you had access to the Market Square which in one of the largest in Europe to warm down! The cups of water has nothing to do with cost, there were four water stations so plenty in accordance with England Athletic guidelines. Im sure that you would not like to see plastic bottles at each station with the huge environmental impact that would have not to mention the issue of cleaning up the route afterwards. I am a runner so i am well aware of what its like to run a half marathon.

A great event for my 1st Half Marathon. Well organised and fantastic marshals all over the course. Thank you to everyone involved in the organisation and I look forward to attending again next year.

This was my first ever half and I chose it as it was local. Overall I enjoyed the event. There were a couple of points I thought needed more signs. As a very slow runner I was on my own in the later stages, tired and I was confused at a junction in the UNO grounds and then after that near the river before going under the A45. Fortunately a passerby pointed me in the right direction. I thought the hills at the end was just mean! 😂 My Garmin also measured it short which was annoying as Strava has not recognised my first half and given me a PR!

I really enjoyed doing my first half marathon in about a decade. There were quite a few hills which I hadn't prepared for which made it a bit challenging. There were a couple of points on the course which were single file which probably shaved of a few seconds. One section was in a rural park and the surface was terrible but most of the course was good. There was good support around the course which definitely helped me keep going.

Mixed bag but definitely a fun day out. Pro’s: great staff, great atmosphere, interesting route, good value, plentiful toilets. Cons: There was a locked road gate in the first third, everyone had to run/walk around the edge of the gate single file. Well marshalled but it was disruptive and was surprising for such a big event. I’m sure the course was measured 300m or so short. Me and a few friends watches measured it short, none measured it at distance. Also according to official timings my 10m-finish pace was faster than anything to 10m… I know that’s not right as I had 1) eased off after overcooking the first half and struggled to keep my average pace even on the downhills 2) trudged up that hill in the last 3miles at tortoise speed. Thanks for the PB though I guess… Placing the water station with cups right before the stairs was an interesting choice…I would have held onto the cup a bit longer if I thought I could get it up the stairs and still have water in it. Organisation before the start was poor. Letting the pacers into the start area first might have helped people position themselves a little better. T-shirts are good but definitely measure small. Sizing info from the supplier might be useful next year.

Thanks Chris glad you enjoyed the day. Unfortunately we had an unexpected locked gate to the car park operated by the local council but we knew that there was a route around if needed. The course is officially measured and certified by the Association of Course Measurers using a mechanical device, not GPS as this is unreliable and gives variations according to which device you are using. We have reported you concerns and they will be investigating

Really fast run, was perfect conditions today. It’s a shame the course came short, I see you had similar issues last year so it’s sad to see nothings changed. Unsure as to why the gate was down on mile 3 three blocking the course so everyone had to slow down and walk into the bush to go round it. Also why did we run up the steps next to the football stadium? I thought this was unsafe. The Marshalls were amazing and the vibe was there! It was a great event apart from these implications which I hope can be eradicated for next year!

The course is officially measured by the Association of Course Measurers and certified so if you have an issue please take it up with them. Unfortunately the gate wasn't opened by the council so I need to take this up with them today. Steps are only unsafe if you live in a bungalow and are not used to them! The ramp is there but longer and more twisty if you don't like the steps. Glad you enjoyed the vibe and hopefully see you next year
