A really friendly and well-organised event overall. The people of Northampton were incredibly supportive and welcoming throughout, which made for a great atmosphere. The medal felt a little unusual being made of plastic, but it still sits happily alongside the rest of them! ...

A really friendly and well-organised event overall. The people of Northampton were incredibly supportive and welcoming throughout, which made for a great atmosphere. The medal felt a little unusual being made of plastic, but it still sits happily alongside the rest of them! Only two minor issues for me. I parked in Commercial Street car park, along with around 20 other cars, only to find that all the exit routes had been blocked. We eventually escaped by driving through and out of an entirely different car park. The other surprise—and I’m amazed I haven’t seen it mentioned in other reviews—was the apparent lack of water at the finish. Perhaps it was just me, but sparkling elderflower and mushroom, or whatever it was, was genuinely the last thing on earth I wanted at that moment. A 20p bottle of plain water would have been an absolute godsend! Those small points aside, it was a very enjoyable, welcoming and well-run event.

The only thing amazing about this run, is how they get the distance wrong every year. The medal is not great, having a cheaply made medal for sustainability or environmental reasons is great, but there is nothing environmentally friendly about a medal going straight in the bin. A...

The only thing amazing about this run, is how they get the distance wrong every year. The medal is not great, having a cheaply made medal for sustainability or environmental reasons is great, but there is nothing environmentally friendly about a medal going straight in the bin. Apart from that, it's a nice local route with plenty of atmosphere along the way.

It's a well run event with a great atmosphere. However it isn't acceptable that the course is short, as it was in the previous year. I know they say it is officially measured, but their official measurements are clearly incorrect. The first 10 miles look about right but the last 5k is only around 4.7 to 4.8k. You can see this from the official spilt data. Almost everyone is running their final 5k at a pace significantly faster than their pace in the rest of the race, despite there being significant climbing. And everyone's GPS is short, not just a few people. It was a PB for me, but unfortunately I cannot count it. As I say, great race, 99% of things are right, but one of the most crucial aspects, the actual distance (!) ruins it a bit.

Nice varied course and a friendly event for all levels. Good support from public and volunteers. My watch suggested issue with course length again, around 300m short but tbh was glad as some unwelcome incline in the final km before the speedy downhill to finish

Fun race but the course was 400m short. We were penned in at the start like farm animals so no chance of getting close to the 2hour pacer like i was hoping for. Medal was poor quality, even worse than last year.

Couldnt have been that bad as you came back for another year. Not sure what you are expecting at the start, there is a start funnel and your time starts when you cross the line. Not sure what you are looking for in a medal - this was one of the most technical medals ever produced with a combination of UV print and 3D printing in bio plastic. We loved it i see you next year??

I ran this for the third time this year and very much enjoyed again however did notice this year had few issues, first one being the distance wasn't correct and although stated officially measured can't really argue with multiple people's GPS, I think I heard we should have ran further into Abington park which may be the reason it was a lot less, but it have me a quicker time so I guess it worked out better. Also previously used to give gels out at the aid station but didn't this year, there wasn't as many toilets at the start this year and also the start could do with some improvement, like other races filter into time zones this race is very much a free for all and every one squeezed into the pen. Despite the issues it is a good run, great crowds and see a lot of the town ,would recommend

Thanks Mike, I think I have covered the event distance in previous replies. There were more toilets this year than we have every had at this event. We will be adding some flags to help people get in to the right place in the funnel. Hope to see you next year

Hi Emilio as i previously mentioned in my replies the course has an official measurement certificate issued by The Association of Course Measurers, we are in discussion as to why there is a difference, your GPS will not be as accurate as a mechanically measured course. We are planning to have the course re-measured by a different measure so we can be doubly sure of the distance or make any changes as needed. We are as keen as anyone to make sure we correct any issues. Hope to see you back next year
