Chose this event for the potential of a PB. A good fast flat course that started with a nice down hill section, a small hill around a lake then a railway out and back section. Other than the starting hill two laps for the 10k.
The event itself is more of an elites calendar event and there are two waves before the masses. The atmosphere was good and the pre race changing was ok when I found it.
I enjoyed the race and gave it all I had, achieving my PB so I was happy with the day. Would I do it again? Maybe it is a good enough event to measure my 10k fitness and next year I will be wiser to the day to enjoy it a bit more.
There was a medal for all finishers, which was ok and up on my wall as it was a pb medal. No tshirt for the runners that like a t-shirt, but im not bothered with those anymore unless its a massive occasion.

Third time for me doing this race
It's a quick, flat 10k and as such attracts a high quality field.
Personally this was a struggle this year and was my slowest by some margin due to injury. Nonetheless I enjoyed the race which is well organised and we'll supported.
The only challenge was finding a car park space before the start, no fault of the organisers, there were other events making Telford extremely busy on the Sunday morning
Hopefully be back in better shape in 2020 to attack the course again.

Fast and flat. Cheap entry fee and well organised. A no frills event for anyone who wants a decent 10k race with a PB potential.

First time I've done this race.
It's pretty flat and fast so great pb potential.
Well organised. They had to cancel prior to Christmas due to bad weather, this was well communicated and the right decision by the organisers.
Recommend it, I'll look to do this again next (this) year.

I'll be honest, as long as I've been running I've never fancied this race.
Too fast; too competitive (people come from all over for the PB potential); too dull (it's an out.....round a cone.....and back.........twice!)
The event was meant to take place in Dec 17 but had to be rescheduled due to snow...... hence I found myself buying a late transfer place from someone I'd never met after friends talked me into it.
A bright and freezing cold Sunday morning in January saw us arriving in good time to collect my number. First worry (I don't like collecting numbers on the day!) all sorted and seamless. First thumbs up!
Pre race we had the luxury of the TIC to wait. Warm; seating; coffee shop (if you wanted it) and proper loos! Second thumbs up!
An elite race goes off first, and the masses are called 45 mins later. No race briefing as such, just a couple of words of encouragement from the pacers. But let's face it....we're runners, we know the drill!
The course takes in part of our local Parkrun route so was familiar to start with, but then you get into the loop part, and I have to say it's difficult mentally. Second worry! It's narrow, and there are faster runners coming back along the other side of the path....... tough! But not half as bad as I'd thought it would be all these years!
Support was really excellent from the marshals and local running clubs and really helped relieve the somewhat uninteresting route. Third (BIG) thumbs up!
This is a fast course, and while I didn't go out with the intention of setting a time, I was close to a PB.... so, with that in mind I'll be back to have a go at that PB next time!
The medal was basic and only a bottle of water at the finish, but then it's super cheap at only £10 to enter.....what more would you expect for the money? Fourth thumbs up!
Will you come away thinking it was the best course ever? Probably not...... but the likelihood is you'll set a great time and possibly a PB and feel well supported along the way..... which definitely makes it worthwhile having a bash at it.
