This is the 3rd year on the trot I’ve done this race. My local 10k race.

Great family atmosphere in the athletes village as there is a 3k fun run before the 10k. 

Well marshalled and lots of local support.

Couple of water stations on a flat (odd little hill/dip) fast and good PB course.

Decent medal and tshirt at the end, goodie bag was terrible this year though.

Instant text message with finishing time.

No official photos but lots of local photographers take pictures and offer them for free online. 

All round a good race on a fast course at a reasonable price, £18/£20.

Another fabulous event. This is the 2nd time I have completed this race. It’s fast and mainly flat course apart from the odd incline, a great event for PB’s.

Its a well organised event, the marshalls are really supportive, and there is plenty of local support along the route. The atmosphere is good the whole way round the route.

Its certainly a great race, value for money, will certainly recommend and hopefully return next year.

I've heard good things about this race in the past and finally got around to running it for the first time this year. I can see why it's a local race favourite - it's a fast and flat one lap route around the Acklam area of Boro. 

It's very well supported locally, I had trouble getting through the crowds to get to the start line! 

The race ends at Acklam Hall where the athletes village co-joins with the Acklam Hall Summer Festival. It's a very nice touch and the post-race massage to sort out my calf tightness was a real treat and a bargain at £5 for 15 minutes.

I'll be back!

My 2nd time running at this popular event in Middlesbrough along with another 2,637 people!

After the 2016 event started off with typical North East damp and drizzly conditions, the early signs were that 2017 Tees Pride could head the same way. Despite the menacing cloud cover, the sun broke through just in time for the start of the race.

The event itself is a 1 lap course taking in the Acklam area of Middlesbrough. Parking is a bit of a lottery here as the roads shut at 8.30am, making it difficult to get into one of the three designated car parks unless you make an early start. The option most take is attempting to find some on street parking just away from the closed road route. This means a 10 minute walk to the athletes village, but this hasn't been a major problem for me.

The athlete's village really is very good. A good selection of decent quality food outlets, 3 large bouncy castles for the kids, various sponsors stalls, baggage tent, goody bag area, ample portaloos and a huge grassed area to meet up with fellow club members or friends.

The start is adjacent to the athletes village so it's easy to get into the starting pen 10 minutes before the start, which is well signed at 5 minute increments to direct you to where you should be stood based on predicted finishing time.It is also understandably a little congested with 2,500 people jostling for position, but good practice for those running the Great North Run the following week!

Once out on the open roads there are a few undulations but nothing major. My GPS reported total elevation of 28m. You can't go wrong on this course, plenty of marshalls, cones and people lining the streets.

It was a touch gusty on certain parts of the course and temperatures of around 16C made it tough going towards the latter few Km's but water stations were well placed just after 5Km and around 8Km. Bottled water instead of silly plastic cups too! I just wish running events organised smaller 250ml bottles for their events as so much gets wasted!

One tip when in the finishing straight... It's a lot longer than you think!

Good value for money event with a T-Shirt and a medal in the finishing pack. Excellent colour this year too!

Well organised, well supported by the local publc, water stations on route.

New course PB for me this year, so many people got PBs, its one of them course.

With booking early the price was good although its reasonable at top price anyway. Decent medal and tee at the finish.

My 1st 10k and loved it.

Online entry was straight forward. Although the run is set in basically in the town centre, I found the start easy to get to dispite road closures, and parked on the roadside only a few minutes walk away. 

The run route was flat and fast, all on closed roads. I was surprised how many local people were on the route, basciallly someone on the roadside all the way round. Water stations were on route and at the end.

The start/finish area, had a selection of food/drink outlets, charity tents, music and a few entertainment things for young ones. 

A good quality race t-shirt ( If a bit bright!) and a medal were waiting at the finish.

For my 1st 10k run, I loved it and have already signed up for the next year's.
