The race starts in the shadow of Tamworth castle. The course is two circuits consisting of mixed terrain, park, road and canal. The path is narrow at times along the canal but this is one of the most scenic parts of the route. The course is relatively flat with only the mildest of undulations but the ground can be quite rough underfoot at times.
The race was chip timed and print out was available after the finish.
The finish line was well organised and water, a good quality medal, a banana and a Mars Bar were on offer at the end of the race.
Overall, a nice, local race, suitable for runners of all abilities.
