The furthest that I have swam in the past approx 2000m so I was a bit worried I wouldnt complete, that my pace wouldnt be good enough. an email to Stuart put my mind at ease. onto the event armed with my goggles, earplugs and jammers water bottle oh and of course Garmin, i set about my swim, taking each 20 lengths in there stride, ignoring the "nutrition" set up on the side, I completed my swim, at the end when collecting my medal I couldnt believe what was on offer, literally it could have been an all inclusive buffet with a swim. the swag bag was a nice touch, my children helped me out with the haribos & freddo! the remainder will get used during my future training. On to next year, I thining of entering again possibly the 5000m.
Stuart & team you did a great job... longest distance on Garmin (also over-reaching) & Strava & I wasnt sick or didnt drown!
