An good event that I have done a number of times now! Excellent value for money at only £5.50 for entry. My only criticism would be that I pre-registered online but had to queue 3 times longer to collect my number than someone I was with who was registering on the day. There is no mass start and you just leave the start area when you are ready. We got off nice and early and beat the crowds to the first couple of check points where in previous years I have queued for a while to get my card stamped. All in all a good event and will definitely do iit again.

My first ever trail marathon (I added an extra mile on at the end to make up the full marathon distance). A fantastic event that is incredibly good value for money, at the £5 entry fee - this really does put the cost of other events into perspective! The course is an excellent mix of town, road, Salisbury plain, mud, villages, hills and trails through some of Wiltshire's finest countryside. The checkpoints at roughly every 5km were a welcome site, particularly towards the end. The only slight negative is the signup process, which is still done via a paper entry that has to be posted to the organisers. If this could be modernised, even so it was emailed rather than posted, then I think the event would be much easier to enter. But other than this, it was a fantastic event and great fun - It's sure to be something I do again in the future!

A really good local event. Excellent value for money at only £5 to enter it really does offset some of the more expensive events out there. Be prepared for bitterly cold winds and rain and muddy tracks! The route is signposted although sone signs are harder to spot than others. The only criticism i would have is that there should be seperate queues for walkers and runners at Checkpoints 1 and 2. Even setting off a bit later than the crowds i still waited almost 20 minutes to have my card stamped at CP 1 and a further ten at CP2. After this the routes split and the crowds spread out so it was a lot better once you were 8-10 miles into the event. Overall a good event and would definitely do it again.
