I've already reviewed this race, but i've done it again so another review is due! This year was flooded, and very cold. But, again it wasn't at all less enjoyable. The marshals were there to help us through the flooded parts of the race, were fast giving out water and treats (it is AMAZING to have a race giving out water, another main reason this is one of my top three races to do) There is support around 80% of the race to give you that extra push. The children cheering you on is too cute. There are a few 'hills' as such, but not too bad. The elevation gain is about 70M. It's the second time i've done it and have enjoyed it over and over. There is PB potential, and is something a beginner runner could do as well. I did get the same medal as last year though, so it would be nice if they changed them each year for the returning runners, as I know lots of people will return year after year.

The Stoke Stampede is a 10k Road Race in and around the village of Stoke St Gregory near Taunton in Somerset. It is a figure of 8 loop that has you running thorough the village centre 3 times which was nice as it was very well supported by the local community. Slightly more und...

The Stoke Stampede is a 10k Road Race in and around the village of Stoke St Gregory near Taunton in Somerset.

It is a figure of 8 loop that has you running thorough the village centre 3 times which was nice as it was very well supported by the local community.

Slightly more undulating than expected but I still managed to achieve a new PB.

Medal is small but nice and certainly acceptable for the modest £12 entry fee.

The only negative is the lack of chip timing so the official results are all off the gun time. Not really a big deal for me though as I have my "official" time from my tomtom.

Will definitely run again.
