I'm so glad I could take part this year. Cragg Runner do a fantastic job of planning out events, it's hard to imagine what else you could really do to improve on this. It's a lovely course with fantastic scenery throughout. The support and volunteers at the checkpoints are the best around - case in point: I rather foolishly left my running poles at the Haworth checkpoint. I arrived at the next one to find someone had driven them there for me! So kind! There is a great sense of community around the event. The route gives lots of opportunities for friends and family to come and spectate and the best-in-class trackers from open tracking are so valuable for helping spectators to get involved. Darren's communications are brilliant and the event report is a good read. Wish I was free for the winter edition but I'll have to wait for 2026 for that fingers crossed...

I was super impressed by this race:. Things that stood out 1. Good price. Much cheaper than a lot of races but just as professional as the more expensive events; 2. Friendly and helpful people throughout the process. This was at check in, at the checkpoints and at the finish; 3. Food was excellent. Plentiful and, as a vegan, really good choice; 4. Excellent communication from beginning to end. The only thing that I might have changed was the Stanza Stones thing at the end. There was nothing wrong with it but ultimately it will end up in the bin. One alternative could be to give a copy of the Stanza Stones book to finishers. If the organisers buy 100 then they should get a decent discount so not too expensive for them.

A unique route taking in some of the best scenery in the uk. Expertly organised and a superb team of volunteer marshals. Feed stations in all the right places with plenty of tasty vegan options both sweet and savoury. The first class tracking system enabled friends and family to find me on route and cheer me on. There was even a nice quiet camping area available before and after the race. All in all an epic day out!

My second run on this very scenic route, although the canal section is a drag. Darren and his crew did an excellent job, no complaints. The weather was kind and the food got better at each checkpoint.
