I absolutely loved this event organised by North Herts Running Club! The atmosphere and crowd were fantastic. The start line was really well organised, with clear markers for different expected finish times—this meant no bottlenecks, which was great. The course itself had a few moderate hills, but you could easily make up time on the downhills, and the downhill finish was a lovely bonus—perfect for a strong, fast finish! The only minor downside was the car park exit, which took about 30 minutes due to the event’s popularity. However, that’s completely understandable and just shows how well-loved this race is. It certainly wouldn’t stop me from coming back!

This is a great run round the town of Letchworth garden city starting from Standalone Farm . The route takes you along the roads on an undulated course . Parts of which is on a coned off area on the local A road. That’s the only down side. The race itself is well organised ...

This is a great run round the town of Letchworth garden city starting from Standalone Farm . The route takes you along the roads on an undulated course . Parts of which is on a coned off area on the local A road. That’s the only down side. The race itself is well organised and friendly and the marshalls are great supported only in parts along the route and mostly for their relatives. The run itself is cheap to enter compared to most prices so value is high. I would recommend this race.

A treat to finish in the farm too, and a good run for the family to come along and support, where they won't just be stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Very well organised race and well marshalled. Pre race information was clear and ability to pick up race bob prior to race is always a plus. Course is undulating with no major steel hills, but it is not flat or a pro PB race. Majority of roads are closed but there are sections with the opposite side of road open with little Marshall’s present. Course is easy to navigate and there are lots of runners so very difficult to get lost. Fair amount of crowds on certain sections which is a plus. Water station is also present at half way. A well organised race that I would run again.

This was my first time entering this year after going on recommendation... The route was fantastic, love road running.. marshalled well with local support everywhere.... didn’t like the gravel finish as I lost my balance and rolled my ankle slightly but oh my days I can’t wait t...

This was my first time entering this year after going on recommendation... The route was fantastic, love road running.. marshalled well with local support everywhere.... didn’t like the gravel finish as I lost my balance and rolled my ankle slightly but oh my days I can’t wait to run this event again! The T-shirt is quality! Shame no medals but I don’t care that much... 3 PBS in 2 days of running!

I really enjoyed this one! It is undulating, with a couple of long hills but nothing too steep to kill your stride. Running through a couple of villages is the best scenery you get, before hitting the A507 which could be a bit hairy for a not so confident runner. However, you ...

I really enjoyed this one! It is undulating, with a couple of long hills but nothing too steep to kill your stride. Running through a couple of villages is the best scenery you get, before hitting the A507 which could be a bit hairy for a not so confident runner. However, you are quite clearly coned off at the side of the road with plenty of signage and high vis marshals to alert drivers, never once feeling like it was dangerous. On the subject of marshals, I thought they were fantastic throughout the course, every one of them encouraging and clear in their instructions. You were never far away from one so even if there were no supporters in a particular area, there is always an enthusiastic marshal in sight. Back to the course, it's all tarmac apart from the last few hundred metres. As someone else pointed out, this can get quite slippy. It was damp today but still sure underfoot. The finish was full of supporters, and there was plenty of water to rehydrate, as well as bananas and apples. Food stands around also as well as kit stalls and post race massage tents. Finishers get a t-shirt, which this year was a yellow one A really good local race (if you're a local), and definitely one to try if you happen to know you're passing well in advance as this sells out quick!

This race does sell out every year and I was lucky to pick up a transfer off of Facebook.

A very busy year for the Standalone 10K with it being its 30th anniversary. This was reflective of the amount of runners, a total of 1353, the highest amount in the history of the event. The race attracts many local clubs so there are a number of more ‘elite&rsq...

A very busy year for the Standalone 10K with it being its 30th anniversary. This was reflective of the amount of runners, a total of 1353, the highest amount in the history of the event. The race attracts many local clubs so there are a number of more ‘elite’ runners present.

Parking is sufficient and the race village is well stocked with refreshments and local suppliers offering running shoes and apparel. Toilets were an issue with a lot of runners waiting in line...runners still in line were hurried up by race organisers due to a very slight delay to race start timings as they were still waiting to use the toilets.

The race start can be best described as congested and although there were attempts at penning for overall race times, signs were not clear due to the amount of runners. This led to runners starting in wrong pens leading to a slow get away and the need to weave through the traffic of runners.

The race was a mixture of part road closures, then in areas where roads were open, cones were laid out allowing runners a traffic free lane to run along.

The course can be best described as hilly and certainly not a PB course. Water stations were provided but cups and not bottles. Some water stations proved difficult to locate cups due to poor lay out and lack of water marshals.

The route is tarmac throughout apart from the last 300 meters sprint finish which was on grass. This was extremely slippery due to recent poor weather and became very churned up and bordering on dangerous as the race progressed with the total amount of runners.

A decent goody bag is provided with a tech t-shirt and for the first time in its history a medal.
