Very poor value for money. As expensive as other races but zero race shirts or goody bags, all we got at the end of the race was a bottle of water and a banana. The medal was also quite boring considering it was the 40th anniversary of the race. Support for the race was the wors...

Very poor value for money. As expensive as other races but zero race shirts or goody bags, all we got at the end of the race was a bottle of water and a banana. The medal was also quite boring considering it was the 40th anniversary of the race. Support for the race was the worst I've ever experienced for this race, probably because of the weather. The race village was quite good in the park and the final mile through the town was a good idea. Overall though really poor value for money when compared to others, the organisers have got a bit greedy and sadly it will effect future races.

So much was great about this event that it is such a shame that it was let down by a few avoidable features. Firstly, to run out of medals is quite inexcusable. Secondly, no official photography was provided. Again I say this is a shame as the atmosphere was great, it was well-marshalled and well-supported (locals came out in droves to cheer us on); even the medal (for those who got one) was lovely. I did email the organisers about it, but never received a reply. There are other half-marathons in the area next year, so sadly I don't think I'll bother with this one again unless there's a change in organiser.

Nice event, good route but sign up was a bit confusing. The event is quite well established and has pacers to help you hit your targets. The race generally has a good feel about it and it attracts a reasonable number of runners. The route is a little undulating and a good route around Stafford. Plenty and marshalls and some good support. Depending on when you signed up, you may or may not get a tshirt. I got caught out by this. I found it odd that even though I'd signed up months prior to the event, they wouldn't have had enough tshirts. Overall a decent event, just spoiled a little at the end.

I did this event in 2021 and whilst a good, atmospheric event. It left some room for thought. Water shortage for the rear runners at mile 7.... the inability to transfer/defer puts people off also. Recommended for a 1st time Half though.

Nice route with a few inclines but no major hills along the way

Town centre start & finish means you have great support to cheer you over the finish line

Fantastic medal & t-shirt at the finish line too

A race I’ll defintely do again
