Great fun race with really nice organizing and supporting staff. Swim was a group start in water, but plenty of space to swim safely, water was murky but felt pretty clean. Canoes were in the water to support and address any issues that might come up. Transition area was nice and clearly laid out with kind marshalls. Bike race was beautiful on open roads but very little traffic so could go nice and fast on country roads. One suggestion going past the spectators someone waved me in and a number of us got confused and turned in before going to the rounabout and coming back. Also got stuck behind a very slow moving car just before dismounting, a bit frustrating, maybe block off that section of road if possible....Run was great through a beautiful park doing two laps with crowds very supportive the whole way. Finish was very professional with carpet and bubbles, and volunteers giving medals and tending the baskets of freebees were super. One dissapointment was the photos, there were photographers along the whole course, but I got very few pictures, not even a finish line picture, instead its a video feed of the finish line. Overall great event, highly recomended for a first triathlon of the season! thank you!

Water visibility was poor, but I didn't get assaulted by any flora or fauna. Ran into some traffic on the bike in St Neots which was frustrating but one of those things. Queue for toilets wasn't great right before start time. Will definitely sign up for the next one, and seek out ATW events

A fantastic event, very well organised by the ATW team! Great communication before and after the event! Friendly staff and marshals on the day and was very happy there was a changing tent in transition so I could take my soggy tri suit off after the race to warm up!

On the whole a great event, we had so much fun participating. The compere was brilliant, shouting out people's names as they came through and support staff were very supportive, especially around the running route. The set up for transition was easy for first timers like us, and the event had a generally fun, good feel. The cycle route was mainly on country roads and would have been beautiful if you could have seen through the rain! There were a couple of busier bits that you had to take care of with traffic. The camping on site could have been a little better with portaloos closer to where you were allowed to camp, and a water tap which there wasn't one of at all which is hard when camping. Unfortunately my partner has been very sick today (the day after the race) which I can only guess is from the river water. Judging by the couple of other comments this has affected a few people!

On the whole, the race was well organised and without exception, the marshalls and volunteers were brilliant. However, the swim start was awful, and like many others I was violently sick following the race. I hope an alternative swim start option will be considered for future races, and it would aid passage if some of the larger logs/tree trunks in the path of the swim could be removed prior to the race.

This was my first ATW event, I thought it was run very well. There was an unavoidable last minute change to the bike route on the day but it was very clearly signposted. The Marshall’s on the bike course were brilliant, helping to control the flow of traffic. The run was good, although some other users of the park weren’t accommodating to us runners. Unfortunately myself and my partner, who also took part, became violently sick the next day we presume because of the churned up river water which was a shame. British Triathlon should really consider reviewing their regulations if water samples can pass but competitors still get ill.

First time doing this race. There was some pre-race worry that it would be too cold to swim, or the swim would be short, but the sun came out and the swim was on. However, despite it saying 13.5c, it was very cold! Also being a river swim I did both my fastest 500m and my slowest 500m. The river is quite reedy in places, but it is shallow at the banks so easy to stand up and take a break if needed. A short run to a well run transition area, and off on the bike. The first part feels a big congested going through the town and you really need to look out for cars. Once out on the country roads then it's all good. The run is nice through the park, but definitely had enough of it by the last lap. Shame some of the park users were being awkward, which put a small tarnish on an otherwise great day. ATW always put on a well run, safe feeling event. Thanks!

Hi Theresa, we are sorry to hear that you have suffered from sickness after the event. The water was tested in line with British Triathlon rules and we have a pass certificate within the guidelines. This can be seen in the pre event information that was emailed to participants before the race. We do hope this has not put you off entering any future ATW events.
