A few more toilets would have been useful. Marshals warning about speed bumps was good. ( It is not easy to see them in congested conditions.) Very good support all the way round from marshals and public.

This was a great event, well managed and very enjoyable. The support around the course was excellent and Southend "showed " itself really well. I will definitely take part again next year. ONE big issue - the parking management before the race was very poor. Large queues getting into the carpark. Unfortunately I think the marshals made the situation worse. Please address this issue for next year. BUT it didn't spoil a great event. Well done

A couple of repeat feedback: - 3000 runners or so felt at capacity. Course adjustments / re-working would need for more people. It felt borderline too busy this year. - Better training for volunteers / organisers. Most didn't really know what they were doing (pacers unclear on the plan, start pen strategy, etc etc) - Marshal support. Some senior more experience marshals located with other less experienced. I witnessed several having arguments with the public about clearing the way for runners (especially in the last 1-2 miles). - Finish area / runners village a pain. Congested, queues for everything, not a great selection of refreshments - Usual parking chaos (communication at the gates / on entry) as well as WELL in advance of the day would be beneficial - Trains were free! More comms on this in advance Note - these are all supposed to be reviews and improvements. All in all, everyone I spoke to were generally pleased and happy to be a part of another great day. The event is always a fun one and people and spectators in good spirits.

I really enjoyed the race. It's a fast flat course and when you're doing it in near perfect conditions, it is very pleasant. I have done this half marathon in a lot warmer weather and is a lot tougher. I got the PB in the end! I really enjoyed the c2c train offer which allowed you to get to Shoeburyness to free and in general apart from some congestion at the start you could run fairly freely. But this race depends very much on the weather and if it is hot comment then it's a bit of a struggle

Just completed my first Southend Half marathon. Excellent well organised event. Very well supported whole way around with plenty of water stations. Lovely medal and t shirt too. Definitely recommend and will return next year.
