I really enjoyed this race. The organisation was seamless. Marshalls were excellent. The route is lovely. The Thames stretch is very pretty. The majority of the route is away from the roads. The short sharp hill half way round took a bit of a toll on my pace for the second half but it was a good challenge and I ran my fastest 10k time this year. I love Barnes Fitness events. They are so inclusive, friendly and fun - so whether you're new to running or a seasoned pro, you'll enjoy. 

This event is very local to me so it easer to walk to. Pre race info was very good via a video and the event Facebook page. The team were also able to sort out a registration problem for us in advance of the race.

The layout of the registration tents, toilets, holding pens etc worked well for covid safety. Start was well organised.

Course was wide enough for everyone and there were lots of opportunities to overtake if needed. River section was flat and very familiar. Hill at entrance to the school was surprisingly steep and I only just managed to keep running. Most in my cohort were walking up.

Sections through the sports fields were a bit boring to run but easy going. No hidden holes or dips to worry about.

Well organised finish and nice medal. Banana and drink were welcome but it would have been nice to have water available as a choice as well as the lucozade sports drink.

Thanks to the very friendly and encouraging Marshalls and to the organisers. Would do this one again. 

Well organised event with a single short sharp hill back up from the towpath beside the Thames. Strangely the website didn't include a link to the results! The second half of the 10k is less scenic and includes a stretch along a minor road, before a km or so on pavements beside main roads.  An advertised hog roast failed to materialise, but there were nice home made cakes (but too few takers).

Very well organised and well marshalled event with clear signs everywhere. Pretty course from Berkshire County Sports Centre in Sonning down to the Thames path, looping back through Blue Coat school (with an unexpected killer short but very steep hill!). Not one if you're obsessed with PBs as there is quite a bit cross country but it's still reasonably fast. Definitely recommend this event and nothing but praise for the organisers and friendly and encouraging marshals.

My daughter took part in her first actual race with Barnes Fitness in the kids 2km fun run today at Sonning. The pre run information was easy to follow and on the day from when we arrived all of the signs were easily positioned. We could see the registration desk and the volunteers were really friendly and welcoming, we were given all of the information needed. Ellie came on the speaker and gave us the race information and start details, race information and health and safety etc. 
my daughter had such an enjoyable experience had a PB and can't wait for the Harwell run in August. Thank you Barnes Fitness for a great event it is awesome all what efforts go into these events too, you guys are great at what you do! Thank you 😊
