Hi Helen, Thank-you for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed the event. We are aware that the start area is narrow and going forward we will certainly be looking at ways to mitigate this before next year's race. We only present trophies to the first person (male & female) in each age category group.

Hi Wendy, thank you for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed the race overall. Your comments about the supportive marshals, the speed of the toilet queues and the baggage drop are much appreciated. We are constrained by the size of the School Hall and although in the past we asked people to line up alphabetically to collect their race bibs, we have found that the system we first introduced last year whereby people are asked to join the shortest works better. The school hall did get a little crowded but this was only for a relatively short period of time. Opening the doors of the school hall doors 15 minutes earlier than in previous years also had a positive impact. A few people did have an issue finding safety pins, although nobody was left without. We moved the Reading Roadrunners Refreshments stall to Langley Mead because of problems with the power supply last year, which we wished to avoid. In addition, there were two food stalls on the Green as well as the cafe in the School Green Centre, all of which proved very popular. Many runners find water bottles very useful, however, we accept that they are not everybody's cup of tea.

I'm sorry you didn't get a banana at the end. we do our best to ensure that everyone who wants one get one but it is difficult to gauge how many will be needed as some years we end up with hundreds left over. I note your point about the finish time timings on the side, which were not positioned as well las they should have been. The position of the start is constantly under review, however, we are constrained by the road layout in the area and the need for the race to be exactly 10km. I look forward to seeing you at Shinfield again next year.

Hi Chris, Thank-you for your positive comments and especially about the atmosphere. On the terrain we are limited by the road layout and the need to start and finish the race at School Green. I imagine you are referring to the The barriers on Croft Road. These were were installed only recently by the Council and are likely to remain a fixture. We do not consider them to be a hazard as the runners are well spread out at that stage and there is ample space to slalom between them. There is also a marshal stationed there to warn runners.
