The event organisers provided a lot of emails in the lead up to the race (about half of which seemed to be regarding sponsored products), but they all needed to go through Google translate as they arrived in Spanish only - understandable, but other international marathons I have attended have provided an English version underneath the original text - so this was a little cumbersome. I didn't attend the expo as friends arrived the day before we did and kindly picked up our race packs for us (with copies of our entry emails, passport numbers and a letter of authorisation). On the day the race HQ seemed to be well organised, if a little cramped with the number of runners, and the bag drop was well organised, however the toilets were all out of toilet paper before the race start (be prepared!) There was hydration available every 3km, even for the back of the pack runners, and also electrolyte drinks and bananas available periodically, along with portaloos. There was plenty of support throughout the race, but the race route was covered with pedestrians at times as I neared the final few miles and the city centre, which meant I had to swerve around people on many occasions. I hadn't had as much training as I would have liked, but as I had booked the trip and arrived, I decided to start and see how it went, as a long training run if nothing else, and had no guaranteed that I would finish the distance, especially not within the 6hr cutoff. However, I managed to keep going and as "ultima" finisher was given a fantastic reception at the end, with "We are the Champions" played for me, and the announcer meeting me on the finishing line and presenting me with flowers! ,They even gave me more than one goodie bag as there was quite a few left over.) With a restaurant near the finish that was naturally where we stayed to recover for a long time in the sunshine. A beautiful race in a lovely place.

First marathon in six years for me and I was not disappointed by Seville. Super easy to get too with the airport only a 4 euros bus trip from the centre. We stayed in a lovely hotel in the centre where there is several nice restaurants and tapas bars and was only a short walk to the start which made race day logistics easy and stress free. The expo was sited around 7km out of town which was the only downside, a taxi or Uber was needed. Maybe next time I would go there straight from the airport as its close by. Course is titled as the flattest in Europe and with the only gradient being a subway you run through twice. A looped course with lots of support and options for supporters to cheer you on. Start time was 8:30am so temperature was nice and cool around 15degs. One of the best and easiest (logistically not effort 😂) events I’ve done and would definitely consider going back to race or just to visit a beautiful city and do some more sightseeing

Generally, all races in Spain are excellent. Seville marathon is one of them. Everything over the race weekend was outstanding. I arrived on Friday and went straight from the airport to the expo. Bib and t-shirt collection was a simple. There were a few exhibitors around on the Friday (it may have been busier on the Saturday). There was a 5k run on Saturday morning and kids races at around lunchtime. The marathon started at 08:30 on Sunday morning. I didn't need to use the bag drop because my Airbnb was close enough to the start/finish to not need it. The course is an out and back course, with a small ~11km loop crossing over to the other other side of the city then coming back to complete the rest of the course through the central area. It was great running through the Plaza De Espanya. The Andalusian crowds were great all the way around. The refreshment stations were well stocked with water, energy drinks, fruit and gels. The only issue I had was that there were not enough bins provided (compared to Valencia). The finish line was same as the start line and the finish area was well organised. We received our medals and then goody bags with bottle of water and lucozade sport, a can of coke and beer. I was out of the finish area in 5-10 minutes and headed straight back to my Airbnb. Seville is a beautiful city and I would suggest that everyone runs the marathon there.

This was a very enjoyable event with real value for money. At the expo you’re given a free voucher to help yourself to as much pasta as you care for in the next exibition hall which also included bottles of water, some nuts and an orange. You’re also given your goody bag which included a New Balance Pink windbreaker training top ideal for winter amongst other things. When i signed up the start/finish was supposed to be in the Olympic stadium but unfortunately due te renovations this was changed to a more central location near Plaza de Espana which may well have increased the crowds due to its central location. The route is very well supported and the aid stations plentiful although a downside was the water and powerade isotonic drinks being served in cups pretty much after the first aid station that served the water bottles. Many bananas were also dished out at these as well. The crowds were also great and you get to run around many of the sites of Seville and past Real Betis football stadium. The weather was great on the day (23 at the end) so perfect running weather and the course flat as a pancake so every chance a PB can be achieved. All in all a great weekend away in a nice city with nice weather and a highly recommended event.

Seville is well worth a visit (lovely food and wine etc) and the marathon is definitely worth entering (and the earlier you enter the cheaper it is)

Dropped into the expo from the airport (its close so worth getting this done before you head into the city). Expo well organized, easy bib pick up, and came with a decent wind breaker top instead of the usual t-shirt.

we stayed in the old town and was an easy few km walk in on race day. Plenty of space in the stadium for last minute getting ready and then out to the road for the race start. Race bib coloring denotes which section you start from and mine didn't seem overly busy and people seem to have placed themselves appropriately so a nice smooth start.

race route is probably not the most inspiring with thin crowds as it is an early start, but it is flat (really flat!), and so fast. There are pacers on the course although I missed the one that I had been expecting to pass as ran an 8 min negative split, but didn't see the 3.15 balloon (almost certainly my miss).

last 10k the route really picks up, suddenly from open straight motorway you hit palace, parks, into town and fantastic crowd support. Its a great pick up. Water stations are well placed and well organised. 

Overall I definitely recommend this race. Well priced, in a lovely city that's well worth visiting and always that chance of a pb!
