Mr. Bacon and everyone who runs these amazing events just knocks it out of the park every time. After doing many 10K's with EX2 Adventures, I decided that 2025 would be the year I do my first half marathon and my experience could not have been better. Not only is the course fun, challenging, well marked and well monitored by the volunteer marshals, the staff creates such a positive atmosphere that makes these races my favorite outdoor activities. I can't say enough good things and I can't think of a single thing to improve. I mostly just can't wait until the next race.

The trails were super clean of leaves in most places which made it super safe for running in the fall time. Several stream crossings made it interesting. The aid stations were well placed and ready with many drinks when runners arrived. Staff are super friendly and encouraging in a genuine way. The food and drink at the end of the race was amazing. If you’re gluten-free, make sure you bring your own stuff other than fruit which was good.

This is my favorite race on the calendar every year. Truly an unbeatable course and superbly managed and run. Aid stations were perfectly spaced out to allow you to not have to carry water even on what ended up being a much hotter day than expected. I remember cresting a large hill at around mile 11 thinking that I was about to be in trouble and need water asap, and almost like an oasis in the desert an aid station appeared on the horizon and got me through the final push. Also, I love that there are bonus miles and that there is a focus on making a perfect course vs. a perfect 13.1 miles. Kudos as always to Andy and his great team.
