First time doing this event but it will not be my last. The course is great and the marshalls were great with their support. I highly recommend this and plan on doing the 5k again in February. 10k in July and December. I can’t do the September one due to other commitments unfortunately.

This was my transferred for the cancelled Ardley Hall, done this event twice this year 5k and 10k was hoping to complete with half marathon, but think because the cancelled race was 10k automatically I was put in for same distance , but wasnt complaining as ran this with manflu and a half would of been more of a struggle.
Location is great iconic race course right outside train station , if coming by car , course car parking is available also retail outlets and restaurants all close by.
Race packs of number and race chip arrived in post the week before, very efficient bag drop .
The half marathon got underway first at 10am 4 laps of the course , then 5k and 10k start at 11am , 5k 1 lap , 10k 2 laps, warm ups are given 20 mins before race starts then you get called forward to what time to expect to get.
As per usual a well organised event good marshalls, top PA announcer, nice medal and snacks after .

Fancied another half before the end of the year and as Aintree is doable train wise on a Sunday morning from the Wirral,I thought why not? I hadn't done a lapped half before either.
The racecourse is the other side of the road from the station so no problems there.Bag drop off was easy as was collection later.. There was a warm up which was a sensible one then runners entered the start area as the pa guy read out hoped for finish times. Plenty of room at the start. We did a quick out and back before 4 laps around the racecourse, including passing the Red Rum statue and I didn't say nay once 馃槀
As we were going down,up x 2 on each lap,50% was in the face of a strong headwind. I enjoyed it though and when the 5 and 10k runners started their race at 11(we started at 10) there weren't any problems that I saw. A good challenge and that's what you want isn't it?
Nice medal and a good selection of snacks after. The marshals and staff were all very good as well. May do another next year..Easy journey back as well.
Lovely to run at Aintree,it's been a while. So much history, really impressive site.
