An undulating, open road race. Well marshalled and signposted. Good vibes all-round. This was my third Richmond Castle 10K, bagging an PB and a pink t-shirt. I’ll be back to enjoy the scenic run in 2025!

A brilliant paved/road 10K, organised by a local running club and never fails to impress, especially on a sunny day when you can see the beauty of the route and the surrounding area. Make no mistake, Richmond 10K includes 4 fairly substantial I clines, 2 of which are rather tough going, but you'll not be the only one who walks them if that's what you need to do, and so long as you can manage inclines you just take it all in your stride. It's a great event, well organised and marshalled. It's ran on open roads so keep your senses keen and follow the marshals and safety officials. A brilliant hilly course, I love a challenge and this is certainly a testing route in and around a beautiful market town. Good for families too with a great start/finish area within parkland for kids to play about in, so the non running parent/guardian can occupy them while the other one races. The Station Cafe is a short walk away also provides a nice warm space for a hot drink and is very close to where the route passes too, so my family took that option and nipped out in time to see me re-enter Richmond and run up the hill towards the castle and round, while they were then able to shortcut to the parkland again and support me at the finish line. Lots to see and do in the area afterwards too and plenty of post race eateries.

Ran in 2023 and had to do it again this year to prove to myself I dislike hills! And the verdict is in! I hate them! But........ heres the but! I absolutely love Richmond 10K I will be back in 2025, stunning views, loads of cheers up Sleegill and Holly Hill, fast downhills...

A scenic event which starts and finishes next to the River Swale underneath Richmond Castle. The route is undulating with a couple of steep up’s compensated by some fast downs. Overall a great 10k well marshaled and lots of crowd support along the way.
