The Rayne 6 hour challenge takes place on the Flitch Way, an old disused railway line. The linear nature means navigation is no issue and you purely need to look for the turn point. Hare and Tortoise have a very well organised set up. A number of parking spaces are available in the local area. Registration took place in a scout hall next to the station and start/finish area and was quick and straight forward. The course is out and backs of just over 5k with an extremely well stocked aid station with snacks suitable for all dietary requirements. I thought the early bird entry of £30 was good value for, a finishers medal which has a very clean, slick design and a goody bag of snacks is given to finishers. Pete, Bev and their marshals are extremely friendly and encouraging to runners throughout. I will definitely be visiting future Hare and Tortoise events.

A fantastic six hour challenge which was as many laps up and down ‘The Flitch’ as you wanted. Each lap was just over 5km A ‘no cup event’ which was well organised. There was zero pressure and you could stop at the aid station after each lap if you so wished. Everyone was so friendly and supportive. Local support from customers and runners at The Booking Station cafe was lovely too. A beautfiul day for it and would recommend if you are on a marathon plan and have to do some long miles :-) The aid station had so much food to choose from and they allow us to have our bags to hand for our own drinks and gels.
