No sign and someone was in my spot which Put me off focus and speed for run . Also I feel my bike times are incorrect For lap 3 I was documented as 39 min when I checked my husbands photos and watch it was incorrect . Shane as I worked hard on bike and would have liked accurate result for development

Absolutely loved the event but the start of the swim was a little unorthodox, when we did the Porthcawl Aquathlon we swam from the beach side to the exit slip and I think that was a much better way to do it. We were allowed to acclimatise in the water before the buoys and then a horn went off. I was around 20 seconds away from the start line at this point as there was no prior warning like a count down or pre race buzzer. The cycle route was well supported and the feeling of coming aroubd By the transition area was electric. The finish line again was amazing as everyone surrounded the promenade and made it an amazing atmosphere. Im not a fan of the wooden medals as i feel like ive been cheated of a reward but I can see why races do it tbh

As a para athlete I felt supported throughout. I had lots of support, they accommodated my needs and were very helpful; especially helping me out of the water. Would recommend this event to other para athletes.

This was my first event and I really enjoyed the event itself 10/10 the biggest downside for me was that the event cost over £80 to be given a wooden medal. Personally this was a huge let down and from conversations with other participants this was a shared issue.

Thank you for your feedback. As part of our commitment to making Gwydra Events as sustainable as possible, we’re always looking at ways to reduce our environmental impact. Our finisher medals are one area where we’ve chosen to take a more sustainable approach by using wooden medals. However, we’re fully aware that there’s a fine line between a wooden medal that looks and feels like a quality keepsake and one that falls short of expectations. Unfortunately, on this occasion, we feel the medals didn’t meet the standard we aim to deliver, and we’re equally disappointed with the finished product. We’ve used the same supplier for previous events and have always been pleased with the results, but unfortunately, the medals delivered this time were below the standard we’ve come to expect. With the event so close, there simply wasn’t enough time to have replacements produced. We take a lot of pride in the quality of our events, including the smaller details, and fully appreciate that a finisher medal is an important keepsake and a reminder of everything you’ve achieved on race day. We’re committed to continuing our efforts to make our events more sustainable, but not at the expense of quality. We’ll be taking this feedback on board and making sure improvements are made for future events. Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts and for supporting Gwydra Events.

Some minor issues, but still a race worth participating in. Race start was a bit chaotic, with nobody really knowing what was going on. I was in wave 2 and the horn blew, before we were even at the start line. As it was the first time running the event, it was a really good first attempt and I am sure that it will iron out the minor issues for future events. I think this event will become a staple in the local triathlon calendar for years to come.
