A really great event with a fun atmosphere and fairly flat. Weather wasn't great but the organisers andVolunteers did a great job of keeping everyone in the course and safe. Thank you!

Weather was good, great medals and t shirt. Crowd support was excellent and it was brilliant to see so many Birkenhead parkrun faces running and supporting.

Best of all,I got shower gel as part of my post race goodies which saved me a quid 馃槀

I wanted to do this event because it’s a local race and in an iconic location. Port Sunlight Village is historic, architecturally interesting, and well-preserved. Support was good and I was buoyed by seeing lots of familiar and encouraging faces; due to the circuitous nature of the course, you get to see a lot of the village, and you are also always within cheering distance of other runners going in both directions. There was a good race village atmosphere near the start/finish area and I like the medal very much. I actually found the race harder than I think I should have done, but that’s down to me and I’m glad I’ve now done a running tour of Port Sunlight Village.

My second time running the Port Sunlight 10km.The first time I ran this was two years ago ,my very first race I鈥檇 ever entered. The local proximity to my home is perfect for me as my family could all come to support me on Father鈥檚 Day.The course it鈥檚 self is a bit uphill in parts and consists of running it twice .The village it鈥檚 self is lovely to run round and the support is fantastic. The course is very well marshalled ,and the medal and technical t shirts are of a very high quality as well as the various products such as canned drink water crisps and even a shower gel thrown in .And to make the event even better they run a mile fun run for kids which my 6 year granddaughter entered she loved it that much I鈥檝e got to find my next race which allows her to run too.

Actually ran the dual race - 5k and 10k, resulting in two t-shirts and 3 medals (see the pic). This race is a personal favourite of mine, based locally and very well organised. Port Sunlight itself is a quaint village which opens its doors to runners once a year and the residents do their bit to make us welcome, with many of them sitting out on their front lawns to support. The basic lap is 5k with lots of out and back sections where it鈥檚 always great to encourage and high-five friends taking part. There are a few slopes but nothing too testy. PB potential for me due to the encouragement around the course but others may find it difficult to go flat out as there are lots of twists and turns. Nice t-shirts and bling plus a few goodies courtesy of the sponsors Unilever (whose ancestors built the village). Good race village at the start / finish point with all of the usual facilities (bag drop, massage etc). Will definitely be back next year and would recommend to anyone doing their first race at either distance.

This is such an historic place to be able to run around. There are amazing houses, memorials, gardens and water features. The atmosphere was buzzing, was very friendly but also calm too.

The 5k consists of 1 lap of the village quite often doubling back on yourself but it's always nice to see your fellow runners.

Plenty of great support en route and appreciative marshalls keeping you motivated.

The medal this year I thought was just lovely, large and weighty. The amount of goodies that followed collecting that was amazing too; water, can of drink, protein bar, massage rub, lentil crisps, shower gel and a technical t-shirt which you could collect before you ran.

Couldn't fault any aspect of today it was just brilliant!

You can't go far wrong running around beautiful Port Sunlight (even twice). I always thought PS was flat as a pancake, but it has slopes which wouldn't have amounted to much if it hadn't been so hot!

The organisers clearly know what they are doing, but the village green surroundings made it a little less corporate than the Huge Liverpool Rock & Roll Half I did last month.

Only real disappointment was the alright Tshirts, which didn't compare to the wonderful "Sergeant Peppers" psychedelia of last years ones.

Race pack was sent out about 2 weeks before with useful info on various car parks to use.

On event day I was doing the 10k but also supporting some friends doing the 5k so we got there earlier to cheer them on.

Event village area was good with opportunity to pick up tshirt before race (and ensure you got the right size) along with food & drink vans and ice cream van.

Nice to see the portaloos were regularly checked and cleaned- big positive point there!

The 5k started at 10 and the 10k due to start at 11 but was slightly delayed due to an issue on course.

There were no starting pens relating to predicted finish time so it was a bit of a free for all. Not an issue for me but could have been for faster runners hunting down a certain time.

Route had a few more inclines than I anticipated however this probably didn't help that I hadn't properly trained post London! Nice and scenic with plenty of twists and turns so certainly couldn't be bored on route.

The Marshals were all great, lots of positive cheering and smiley faces!

Only downside to the event was the bottle neck after the finish line. I presume this was due to not having premade goody bags in a bid to cut down on plastic and waste (which is postive) however the single file li e to be handed one of each thing left.you with a bit of a  balancing act and took a lot longer than preferred.

I will definitely do the event again.
