This was my first marathon and I’m very grateful to Phoenix, who organise a load of themed marathons here. It’s 3.28m to the turning point, 3.28m back ... repeat four times. Positive: great community vibe. Scenic route along the Thames. Amazing aid stations. Great for family and friends of runners to see them 8 times (Hurst Park at 2.5m is ideal, particularly if you have kids)’ Very well organised. Mostly good underfoot except if there’s been rain. Constructive feedback: despite amazing themed medals for other similar events, this one didn’t have a year, date or distance so I’ll need to get engraved. Overall I really enjoyed it and would recommend it!
