A friendly event and lovely views out across the Mersey. Route gets congested when people are heading in both directions along the promenade. Route is interesting with 500m on grass at the start and then a detour through Otterspool park. Enjoyable day out, but route and congesti...

Very enjoyable, no-nonsense 10k run. No big frills, just a nice, mostly flat, course, great support from marshals (enthusiastic and plenty of them), chip timing, good facilities at the race village. Water only at aid stations but it was only 10k so that’s fine. Pacers at various (sensible) time points and the snails amongst us were made to feel very welcome (well, I was anyway). No medal but a really good quality t-shirt that I will definitely wear for my runs (sensible colours and not a wacky design). Very reasonably priced too. Thanks Penny Lane Striders, see you next year.

Great Local 10K, with views of the Mersey and a bit of off road through a small wooded area.
The heat I ran, the was terrible rain the few days before which exposed tree roots. It wasn’t the safest, but to the credit of the organisers they made everyone aware and they painted the roots in yellow to highlight them and avoid any accidents.
Overall it’s a fun race, and the free tech T-shirt is always a bonus.
