I was signed up for the standard triathlon but was switched to the duathlon due to bad water quality (not their fault). The scenery of the event is really beautiful and the staff was very friendly. However, there are things to improve. Firstly, neither the running path nor the roads were blocked off. Obviously on a sunny Sunday there were quite a few pedestrians on the narrow pathway and a car even honked at me once because it was coming too fast from behind. Secondly, when I finished, they had started with the prize ceremony right next to the finish line so everyone was gathering right behind the finish line with their back to it which made the finish quite underwhelming. The medal is quite nicely designed but there was no goody-bag or T-shirt. Overall, it was a great event and I can recommend it to those who want a more low-key race.

My first OWS event doing the 1.5km swim and I love it. The support staff and DJ/man on the mic were all so friendly and upbeat. Felt very safe and well looked after in the water! Looking at doing the next one at Henley in September!

It was a very low key and chilled event (3km swim at Marlow). The organisation, location and support were excellent. I would recommend this event for anyone new to OW swimming, or not very confident. There was no time pressure, and my swimming buddy and I seemed to have our own personal safety kayak throughout our swim. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The triathlon and other events were simultaneously happening around us which meant supporters were cheering us along too. I also love an eco friendly medal.

Small field was disappointing. Lack of advertising in my opinion. No flyers at other Tri events (e.g Windsor) or even at local Swimming lakes, running clubs etc etc. Run course was also short by circa 700m.
