Well this race is one of my favourites of the year. I ran this back in 2017 so came back for more in 2018. What a contrast from 2017 to 2018, the race was still the same course and stunning, the weather was driving rain as 40mph winds... and of course it was a head wind and as it’s a point to point race there was no let up for us. Registration very easy but need to get online quick as this event sells out within hours. Race numbers sent out in plent time. As it’s a point to point race I recommend buying the bus ticket which allows you to park near the finish and the Alnwick Harriers who organise the event bus you to the start. The course is as the title says right along the coast taking in stunning scenery that Northumberland has to offer. Starts on the beach and feet will get wet from the start. Route is a mix of sand, water, trail, mud, road, grass and more sand. Finish is 1.5 along the beach to finish and great crowds and other runners to welcome and cheer you home. Nice finishers top (long sleeved top) along with water so all good. This event is in my top ten of all races I’ve done. A must for any runner who loves all terrains of running.

This run is all about the spectacular scenery of the Northumberland coastline. It is absolutely incredible. The race covers most terrain: sand, road, trails and so on. It's a challenging run, but great fun and a good atmosphere, even in the drizzle. Organisation and logistics are great.

The only downside was the odd sizing of the top. Loved that they were long sleeved but you really needed to go one size up for it to fit, so I have ended up with a rather useless top. Hopefully sizing can be more realistic in future.

At the finish, I said never again, but will most likely be back next year!

First time I'd run this race after hearing some great stories from one of our coaches who had ran this for the last 6 years.

Very well organised event, car drop off near the finish at Alnwick and then they bus you to the start at Beadnall. Then you run along the coast with a mix of terrain starting on the beach, then trail, a few road sections (not many) then back to trail, mud and grass before finishing on the beach. Stunning part of the country, taking in the seafront little villages along the way with great pockets of local support along the way.

It was a rainy drizzly day so ideal running conditions but slippy underfoot so needed to be on it for a few of the sections.

Fantastic training long sleeve top at the end which is my favorite top.

A must for all runners who like a race that has it all, The Alnwick Harriers do a great job and this one sells out fast and opens mid January.

It's the first time I've ran this race, but I know people who have ran it quite a few times over the years. People have told me it's a bit of a marmite run- you either love it or hate it- and I can honestly say that I loved it! It starts on the beach at Beadnell and carries on over the sand for the first mile or so. After that it's a mix of fields, road, through a golf course, past Dunstanburgh Castle (which is amazing), and back on to the sand. You also run though the village of Craster. The last mile and a half is back on the beach, which leads you to the finish at Alnmouth. 

Conditions were perfect for me today, it was rainy, overcast and cool, but not too cold. Perhaps this is why I loved the race so much (I don't do well in the heat!). 

There's support along the route at the various villages and the marshalls were very encouraging and supportive. Quite a few water stations, some with bottled water and some with cups (although I didn't really need much water today). 

No medal but a great long sleeved training top- perfect for winter training. 

Overall a lovely atmosphere and a very picturesque run through part of Northumberland. Definitely one to do again next year!
