Incredibly well organised and professional. High Standard of safety - allowed a sense of adventure without ever feeling dangerous. Volunteers were extremely friendly and supportive.

It was a fantastic race from start to finish , breathtaking scenery , amazing volunteers who couldn’t do enough to help you at the support points . The phone app and gps and map worked well for me as I hadn’t seen the course before and I didn’t go off course . The food and drinks refreshments were amazing , and pre event atmosphere . The safety checked in on me when I was going through a hard patch and was last in course and lifted my morale suggesting to stop at a farm for extra refreshments . I loved the warm tents at Kirkby Stephen and opportunity of a shower , I spent a lot of time at support points refuelling drinking tea and tending to my admin . My only regret was not taking a good warm bivvi bag to put over my sleeping bag to give me extra warmth as the nights were cold . Really lovely event , generous cutoffs and outstanding route and wildlife observed . I loved it and take lots of great memories along the way , did encounter a playful horse coming into Kirkby Stephen in the dark which was interesting getting it to lose interest in our ruck sacks !

This was my first Ourea race and it was a fantastic experience. Everything from the pre-race organisation, registration, aid stations were all brilliantly organised. Nothing was too much trouble and you really felt in safe hands. I’m already planning to do Cape Wrath in 2026. I just hope we get the weather we had for this years Northern Traverse but I guess this is out of Ourea’s hands.

Firstly I’d like to say what an amazing event this was, a life inspiring experience. It definitely lived up to expectations and the communication and pre race information was great. The only things that let it down for me was I had 2 very minor issues with rudeness, from helpers at 2 different support points early on in the event . Which was unexpected but I understood the race a stress on everyone. On a plus note everyone else was absolutely bang on and very kind and helpful. The guys at Glaisdale were absolutely amazing, plus it was a nice treat to be sat somewhere warm. Also the medics at Lordstones were exceptional and very knowledgeable. Not only did they help with my feet but they gave me the confidence to carry on and finish. A must do event and I’ll definitely be back at some point for more of the same.

A really well organised race. The whole ethos is that competitors are supposed to be self sufficient over long stretches (up to 55km) between support points. Very satisfying to complete the race in those conditions. I heard a few people say the stretches between water points were too long, but if you fill up to the recommended amounts it's fine. It is not like other races where there's only 10km to the next support. Where there is support, it's great. Helpful volunteers, very supportive medics. Multiple options for food. Places to sleep. Could not ask for more.

All the staff, volunteers and medical staff were absolutely amazing. I don’t think the people working alongside the course could care for the runners any more. I felt looked after at all points. Unfortunately I didn’t finish the race and the response team from Richmond collected me around 41 hours into the race. The 2 members of the response team were amazing and really understood my pain physically and also how upset I was that I couldn’t continue, they were truly caring and it felt they shared my upset that I couldn’t continue. I will be returning and more then likely be doing more events ran by Ourea as the event was organised brilliantly and I felt safe at every step of the course and looked after thoroughly at every checkpoint. Not to even mention how outstanding the course actually was, I think the weather helped that too! Thank you to all at Ourea and the volunteers who make the race what it is
