it’s low cost and no frills. Rinal Registration finalised on the day to save postage costs, this event sells out weeks before close! Swim is well supported in outdoor heated pool, bike route is challenging enough and quick enough. Run is just shy of 5k but pretty flat and quick. 

For me its awesome, it’s local, atmosphere is great, very supportive and friendly. 

I will do this event every year without question, it’s low cost, so no medal etc, but still great!

register online and arrive to get numbers, all very well organised, park bike up after its safety checked.

the swim is in a HEATED 75m outdoor pool, 4 lengths. Feels like open water when you get 80 people in there! 

Short transition and then out on a tour out of town through a few villages, no major hills, quicker back than out. All roads are open so there are a few high speed roundabouts to navigate which is a pain if you meet a car and have to stop as you will be licking 40kmh+, so it’s down to the traffic gods! On the day there were temp traffic lights, but they were marshalled and time deducted if u had to stop.

the run is cracking, all on an easy trail through a nice wooded trail out, over the river and then back along the toe path to the leisure centre. Great support when you get back into that area, but almost none anywhere else out on the course. 

Once finished you find find the computer and print your result. No medal which is a shame, free t shirt when you get your race number. Will deffo be back in 2018!
