First time doing this event and I will be back. A nice course with mostly closed roads and great marshal supervision all the way around. Pretty flat although the wind made it hard work but it was worth it. A race organiised by runners for runners. This is an ideal first half marathon for people to dip their toe. Nice medal a t-shirt at the end as well as fruit, sweets and a buff- nice goodies!

Lovely flat potentially fast half marathon all on roads that were mostly closed. Finish was a little bit of torture because you can see the line but still have to run in a U shape to it. Nice medal and t-shirt at the end. Over 1000 runners this year.

This is a nice little event. The field isn't too big (about 1200) and so it retains that local feel. The start is a little walk from HQ and they walk you in wave times. It worked well for race as I wasn't getting stuck behind people and didn't have loads overtaking me.
The course is pretty flat with small inclines. You could definitely attempt a PB here.
The medal was nice although the t-shirt is bright pink. My other half said I can't wear it out, haha.
Overall a good event and would hesitate to come back.

Last year the weather was very hot so fairly sure they’d put extra water stations on this year - there were plenty. Fairly low key event in a nice relaxed way, a few undulations on the route but not bad. A nice bright pink tshirt at the end was a pleasant surprise. The medal was the same as last year but with a different date on the ribbon.

First time at Newark, and I thought it was great.
Just under 800 runners of all abilities (not just sub 2hr club athletes). Start and finish area is okay. Plenty of portaloos but no changing facilities.
Well marshalled with lots of medical back up on course.
The course isn't entirely flat, but the couple of inclines aren't going to destroy you if you have trained well.
Nice medal and tee, and will definitely do this again.

So ive done this race for the last couple of years and i'd say 2018 was the best year, little niggles have been fixed.
Registration is super easy - pay the small fee, get sent e-mail and collect number of the day - very easy.
Its a small field - 1000 maximum.
I love the pre-start when you are put into time zone cues and taken to the start - really great idea and works very very well.
Overall the course is flat with the odd slight incline, but other than that your by yourself in the countryside which is fine. Great marshall support and locals come out as well. Loads of water stations and couple of bottle stations this year which was a great relief and needed. Sponge station about mile 10 - then the last couple of miles are back into the finish and grass area which has been reduced as it was nasty before.
Cracking t-shirt and medal and goody bag so all in all a great local race.
Will certainly be back in 2019
