This was the inaugural Melksham Town FC 10K by DB Max, who always  put on really good events. I was one of the 60 minute pacers on the day. Race HQ was located at the newly built Melksham Town FC grounds. There was plenty of on site parking on the day. The route itself is two laps around the local residential areas and Melksham town centre. It is mostly flat on footpaths bar a few short uphill sections and the last section on grass so it has PB potential. The medal is a lovely representation of the Melksham Town crest. Definitely a race I would run again. 

I wouldn't normally get excited about running around Melksham but when DB Max come to play, then you know it's going to be good. The football club was a great to have the start/finish with plenty of parking and fab facilities too. The course follows 2 slightly different and flat laps of residential and town centre running with SIX water stations! These were definitely welcome as it was so hot. There were over 50 marshals to help with road crossings and to give out encouragement so you were never far away from a friendly face or help if you needed it. The only thing I struggled with was the pre-race briefing - even though the chap was visible on the balcony and had a microphone, he didn't insist that everyone listened so there were a lot of people chatting all the way through so I found it hard to hear him but kept my eyes on him so I could lip read! At the end were the usual treats including the infamous jelly snakes and a goodybag from Melksham Motor Spares with a car freshner and a notpad. I didn't stay for #finishatthebar but heard it was well received by others.

I'd definitely recommend this to others.
