Just the location is amazing, Richmond is always a great place for practicing outdoor sports. And on top of this, a very well organised event. Friendly environment among participants and spectators.
I look forward every year to coming back again.

Absolutely enjoyed this event was my first time here. The bike was a little crowded but made for an exciting race. And was pleased to take my age win. Hopefully see you this year. 😊🏃♂️🚴🏃♂️

Everything was great, location, couse, marshals etc... all except the medal. Disappointing that whilst the medal itself is 'ok' .. after completing the Ultra, i would've expected a different medal to the relay and standard participants.

Best location for a duathlon, I don't think there could be a better place in London. Very convinient for the people living in west london, as you don't need the car to get there (which is my case). big event, great orgnaisation, and very enjoyable throughout. I really like it.

Setting is amazing and my local park, I've cycled and ran around it countless times. Unfortunately coming downhill on a blind corner on what is the fastest part of the circuit I was involved in an accident. A deer was in the road, people were still cycling past it. I braked hard as the deer looked startled, person behind also braked hard but locked up their wheel and crashed into me. I'm left with a broken collarbone and a lengthy recovery.
My thoughts, clearly there were some inexperienced cyclists taking part in the race and marshalls should have red flagged as soon as the deer was on the road. Secondly, this area should have been gated off to prevent deer coming onto the road where cyclists are travelling fast. The prudential ride london gates the whole route through richmond park, I do not understand why that was not done for this event.
This was a fun event but on the basis it's too risky to take part with current safety measures I cannot recommend it

My first time at the London duathlon. A huge event in lovely setting. The team did well to Marshall so many people through the racking process and the start line. Out on the course, narrow routes in places caused bottlenecks, but not too bad on the run. The bike route got busy, but most riders were sensible, slower riders keeping left and with plenty of warning shouts, quicker riders could make good progress. 3 sharp turns, ok if you read the road and can handle your bike ok. Didn’t see any issues out there, nice to be watched by a huge stag and see parakeets flying about! Only negative? A bottle of water and a banana at the finish. Very poor. And the “event village” was very disappointing. But overall, a good day out.

My race got off to a very bad start as the organisers didn’t send me any pre race emails about car parking or the pre race pack. They didn’t respond to several tweets, never answered the phone and only finally responded to my emails 2 days before the race with my start time. It was a bit of a shambles and gave the impression that nobody was looking at their email, social media or answering the phone (and no option to leave a message.)
In terms of the race itself, both the bike and run are undulating but on smooth roads for the bike and good surfaces for the run. I enjoyed the run but found four laps of the bike course to be very monotonous and boring. I love Richmond Park but with very little support out there it was a far less interesting bike course than most Triathlons & Duathlons I have done.
Also, there are several very sharp turns that at times were pretty sketchy due to how fast you approach, the number of people on course and how tight the corners are. I also heard there was a bad crash due to deer running over the course and people swerving to avoid.
Aid stations only supply water and considering the entry fee and length of the event, this is a little lacking compared to other events. The entry cost for my distance (standard) was £80 which is very expensive. Yes you get a cycling jersey but I’d rather choose to
buy one rather than it being part of the entry fee.
I was lucky in that I had an early wave start. Later waves were really congested bordering on dangerous in terms of how busy the bike course was and people were having to queue to get back into transition after the bike leg.
, I wouldn’t recommend it unless you really want to race in Richmond Park. I won’t be going back as there are better races out there that are safer and much better organised.Overall
