More toilets as it was quite stressful queuing at 7.45 when your swim start is 8.oo . A toilet in transition would be good. The swim was lovely the bike route is great and the coned off lane was helpful. The marshalls were brilliant. This was on our club champs for the first time this year and our club has been encouraged to enter next year as its so nice.

Great little event, really enjoyable. Water was a bit murky in places in the swim, but on the main course was mostly fine and super calm and sheltered. The bike course was great, 'undulating' with good road surfaces and not too busy with traffic, the partial lane closure at the traffic lights was really helpful and much better than having to stop and have your time adjusted later. Run course was well marked, quite tough but beautiful. Would definitely do this one again, just please pay for a couple more toilets and put them in the Transition area so that only competitors can use them!

I just competed at the 2022 event and found it a really good day out. The race was well organised. Good pre event communication, quick registration, didn’t get to go to the race briefing as stuck in the toilet queue (so more toilets wouldn’t go a miss). The event location is beautiful at Locko park. The lake swim was actually better than expected it was merky but not weedy. The bike course was well sign posted and at the time in the morning not too much traffic. The run course is very scenic in the private grounds of Locko park. Would recommend for beginners are seasoned triathletes.

Gorgeous weather, local and scenic so a great tri that I am hoping will continue. Well organised and brilliant help from the marshalls and volunteers. Fabulous course but that hill of death at the start of the run certainly makes you puff a bit. The only fly in the ointment was lack of toilet facilities. Only two portaloos so I lost easily 30 mins queuing so never made the brief, barely got to my wave time with a ruffled wet suit and parts of my kit still in the bag due to this delay. Definitely think at least four next year. There were some very unhappy participants in that queue I can tell you.

Well organised, relaxed feeling sprint triathlon (or aquathlon) in a beautiful setting on the outskirts of Derby so easy access. Really good for spectators. The swim is a bit dirty and murky but well laid out and easy to navigate, the bike is quick and undulating with marshalls at every junction and the run is undulating with no traffic, partly on path and partly around the edges of fields. Overall a highly recommended event suitable for anybody new to open water triathlons and experienced triathletes.

I am not a regular sprint triathlon or indeed particularly athletic - but after taking part in a very enjoyable one at Trentham Gardens nearly 12 years ago I wanted to see if at the age of 72 , I could still do it and so I signed up for Locko Park .We camped in the parkland the night before - which was a great facility to have available for people who have a long way to travel or just want to enjoy the serene and beautiful setting . From the time of our arrival to the time of our departure we always felt welcome and the information sent out before hand was excellent, as was the response to my email queries . The lake was a pleasant temperature [ no need for a wetsuit ] with help at hand to get on and off the shore ; the ride was well signposted with marshals at each junction , and the run had plenty of tree shade . The most important thing [ and which I d like to share with others who may be wondering whether or not to have a go ] is that all the Marshals and Motorbike riders at this event were so encouraging , caring , friendly and helpful -it really made a difference . I dont know whether I my age made a difference to the support I received - but thankyou anyway ++a real tribute to Jim and the team involved .Finally, I dont know if this is a particularly challenging sprint[ by sprint standards ] but in my view the tranquil setting and brilliant organisation makes it a unique bucket list experience not to be missed .!

A great location to have a sprint triatlon. The lake swim was ok, a bit murky but fine once you get going and was very well marked out and supported by kyak and paddle boarders.

The transition area was very well laid out and easy to navigate for all transitions. Lots of marshalls about to show you the way and shout lots of encouragement.

The bike section was pretty swift and undulating withought many tricky turns, the roads were resonably quiet too syaing the were main roads mainly.

Loved the run section around Locko Hall and the grounds, made it quite "iconic".

I would highly recommend and do it again if it comes back next year. Felt very safe and well supported.
