The pre-race communication was excellent, with clear and timely information that helped build excitement for the event. The atmosphere on race day was fantastic, and the support from both marshals and spectators throughout the course was greatly appreciated. This year seem much better in terms of support from spectators at different points of the race. Not a massive one but if there was a bit more entertainment along the way, that would have been nice. For example in Birstall village and Abbey park where it got very quiet. New walk had a bit of a bottle neck due to it being narrow but half of the footpath had to be separated for public pedestrians. It was fantastic overall. I thoroughly enjoyed the race and will be back for the Leicester Festival Half Marathon next year.

What an incredible event! The Leicester Marathon experience was truly outstanding, with a fantastic atmosphere, excellent organisation and amazing support from the volunteers, marshals and spectators. The route offered a wonderful mix of city streets, beautiful green spaces and iconic Leicester landmarks, making the experience both enjoyable and memorable. The encouragement from the crowds along the way was brilliant and provided that extra motivation when the miles started to feel challenging. A huge thank you to all the organisers, volunteers and everyone involved in making this event such a success. The positive energy, community spirit and dedication shown throughout the day made it a truly special occasion. It was also wonderful to see an event that brings the community together while supporting such a worthwhile local cause. A brilliant event from start to finish, and one I would highly recommend to other runners! Congratulations to everyone who took part, and a massive well done to the team behind the scenes for all their hard work.

Excellent marshalling and pre race communication and great atmosphere, but after running this event for years, this year is the first time things have niggled me. When the bibs came with different waves on them I thought; brilliant no scrambling and no getting stuck behind slower runners and those opting to walk. Instead our little running group couldn’t fit in our area and stood queuing to get in whilst the slower waves surged forward. As a result it was a terrible start for us as we had to keep weaving through gaps. The idea of waves is great if well executed, it’s quite simple…have a staggered start like other big races, you’ve added more runners so it’s getting busier so have the fastest runners first then 10 mins later once the next wave has gathered at the start send them off and so on, so the slower runners/walkers can set off without getting pushed and the faster runners don’t have to weave around and risk tripping up pavements and knocking into people. Also don’t allow spectators into the area of bag pick up when I was tired from running I didn’t then want to get rammed by a pushchair and jumped up by a dog whilst continuing the weave through people to simply get my things. The arena is plenty big enough to celebrate your loved one’s success after. Sorry to sound negative as I really do love this event but it could be even better.

Fantastic event, really enjoyed the course and the marshals were amazing. Having waves this year was a very good idea but they need to be managed. I could not fit into the pen for my wave and then couldn’t get onto the course because the wave behind were not held back. This caused major bottle necks until we reached London Road as there were now slower runners infront of faster runners.

Fantastic race ,brilliant route and atmosphere, my only suggestion would be if marshalls could ask 10k finishers to keep to one side coming up new walk , trying to run up through groups of people walking was quite tough at the end of a half marathon , but a fantastic event for Leicester

Another great event. Loved the new route through to Watermead Park and avoiding the A46 was a masterstroke, l hope they keep it next year. Marshalls were brilliant again with lots of public support as well. Fantastic run village at the start and finish and a excellent goody bag. Well done everyone, see you next year....

Was down for 1/2 m but switched to 10k due to pulled muscle, I was able to get a new number on the day very efficiently without queuing. Very packed start but after that was fine, sunny weather and great support from marshalls and public out along the route, route back right through city centre, all closed roads and paths. I recommend this run. Nice medal and T shirt too.
