This was my second half, but my first in Leeds. Like all the reviewers have said, the crowd support was incredible. As a charity runner, at times I was quite emotional from the support. However, the end of the race took the sparkle off the day. Again, like the other reviewers have said, the queues were slow and long. There was just one exit and people were getting frustrated. I was by myself and felt vulnerable as a short female getting squeezed at the exit gate. We were hot, sweaty and tired; being crammed together did not help. There was a member of staff (I think?) screaming at us. When we managed to get out of the gate, it was impossible to find family because everyone was waiting in the same place. Last year I ran the Edinburgh marathon and we were funnelled quickly - water, medal, goody bag, done. There were clear meeting points (flags with letters of the alphabet) described in the pre-race information which took away the stress of reuniting with family after the race. I looked all over the website and pre-event info for something similar in Leeds and I can see why I didn’t find it. It just didn’t exist. A real shame. I won’t sign up for this again.
