Pouring down rain, but no lightening and participants could decide on their own at what level to participate, whether racing all out, w/ caution, or to drop out for the entire race.

Loved Abe's Olympic tri at Lake Springfield Triathlon. The course was pretty easy: lake swim, fairly flat bike and run and pretty area. Everyone was nice and it was a fun atmosphere.

There was a big mention of the boat launch area being VERY slippery by race organizers and some rubber mats were set out for returning swimmers to get traction. However, it was clear that there were several extra mats not in use which could have helped.

Thanks, Alan! We have a better plan for next year. It was a mess, the rubber mats were floating up. We tried sandbags but those did not work well. Thanks for your patience and feedback, it will be better next year.
