The atmosphere was fantastic and a lovely route. There weren’t enough toilets and some of the pathways were too narrow for the volume of runners.

Great event, good crowd and atmosphere. Loved the start and end in the market place. Mostly great, smiley marshalls. Pick up of bibs v easy and quick at About the Run. Pictures included and lots of them which came out next day. Also results published quickly. Would be nice to have energy drinks and stations for the longer runs. I also couldn’t find an 8 mile pacer and pacer signage wasn’t great generally.

The my markers were all past the actual mole according to my watch and then at the end I will shoot and had to run up and down the funnel to record 20 miles I wasn’t the only person who had to do this or who the Mark markers were out

Nice local race, good vibes. Route can be improved as the bit on pavement next to roads with cara is not really pleasant and safe

Enjoyable race; lovely sections along the river and a great medal and t-shirt at the end. However a few things detracted: 1. It was 8.5miles, not 8 miles. This is significant. The course had changed from the year before but this was not mentioned in the emails. The end was therefore confusing and many runners tried to sprint the final 100 metres, but it turned out to be 600 metres to the finish line 2. A good chunk of the race is along a main road. So whilst the parts along the river are lovely, it's important to note. 3. The start was a bit chaotic, with confusing queues and pacers bunched together making it difficult to get going. 4. The support was limited. I appreciate that organisers cannot change this, but in terms of 'atmosphere' I can't score it very highly

Some of the Marshall at the roads we had to cross were not standing by the roads so felt like I had to look, stop etc quite a lot on some sections. The map of where to line up for the waves was in a different place to where it started to people had gone to one side then had to all move at once to the other side. This created confusion and meant a lot of people coildnt get into the correct place. The race was advertised as 8 miles but I ran for just under 5 minutes (nearly half a mile) past the 8 mile sign before I got to the finish. It wouldve been good if the 8 mile mark was closer to the end for a more accurate time for 8 miles . I had dine this race previously but could not compare my time as the distance was longer .

Race was good, marshalls were fantastic, let down at the end . I Completed 20 miles, I am a very small woman and the smallest T shirts were unisex M, smaller ones taken by, 8 mile, 16 Mile and faster 20 mile runners.

Really enjoyed the race yesterday overall – great atmosphere and a lovely route for most of the course. One thing a few of us noticed was that the distance seemed a little short of 20 miles on our watches. Mine came out around 19.8 and quite a few others were showing similar (some even closer to 19). Not sure if that was just GPS drift or something with the course measurement, but it felt a bit surprising when the 19-mile marker appeared near Kingston Rowing Club and then the finish line seemed to arrive very quickly afterwards. Course-wise, the first ~16 miles were brilliant. Really scenic, nice flow, and a good route for settling into rhythm. The only part I personally found tricky was the final four miles – there was quite a bit of winding in and out which felt a bit tough mentally that late in a 20-mile race when you’re already digging deep. It might have been nice if the last section had been a slightly simpler stretch or loop so runners could just focus on ticking off those final miles. That said, I still really enjoyed the event and the atmosphere was great. A solid long-run race and a nice part of marathon prep. Thanks to the organisers and volunteers for putting it on!
