Everyone & everything was amazing. A tough course but outstanding scenery. Volunteers, Marshalls & water stations were fantastic & on the way back the snacks, gels & sweets were as much appreciated as the water. Don’t understand why it’s not closed roads although the Marshalls we...

Everyone & everything was amazing. A tough course but outstanding scenery. Volunteers, Marshalls & water stations were fantastic & on the way back the snacks, gels & sweets were as much appreciated as the water. Don’t understand why it’s not closed roads although the Marshalls were great on the roads where we had to cross. We had some close shaves on the narrower roads where there was no support or Marshall points. That was the only thing I did have an issue with, otherwise a fantastic event.

This was my first marathon race! The crowds on the island were amazing and although this a road race, the event is well signposted and the marshals did a great job of directing traffic safely - plus drivers were generally considerate (and supportive!) of the event. This is an undulating course, so make sure you do a lot of hill training!
