The Ironman Rwanda is one of a kind. It is a must do for all Ironman athletes. The adventure starts as soon as you land in Kigali. The travel across country to Lake Kevu is an incredible experience - saturation of the senses. You see why Rwanda is called The Land of 1000 Hills. The place is vibrant, safe and immaculately clean. The event itself and the days building up are wonderful. You meet lots of like minded athletes and there is a real sense of camradiere on the course - everyone cheering each other on. The local kids are amazing - big smiles and super supportive. The organisation of the event was 10 out of 10. Any issue was resolved within minutes - there was no drama, just lots of positive energy. After the race there is a nice dinner then it is on to the Mountain Gorillas. Bucket list. Wow oh wow! Four days in Rwanda for the Ironman Rwanda - put it on your agenda for next year. Carpe Diem. You won't regret it.

Ironman 70.3 Rwanda is an amazing event. It's big enough to make you feel like a champ but small enough for you to know everyone on the course..

It was a beautiful set up. Had a major bike incident on the front side of the trip! The locals jumped in to help and I’m so appreciative of them! Since this is a smaller race, the transition bag hangers could hav been spaced out to get your gear quicker! Took me minutes to pull off my bag! Run: extremely in need of help was the lack of aid stations especially on the run. The lack of markers for the turns created me twice going the wrong way on the run. I know you can’t control the locals but they constantly were trying to grab my water bottles off my bike! Such a beautiful venue other than those points! I would do the race again!

One of the most beautiful races I have done in my career, coupled with how welcoming the locals and staff were. A truly unforgettable weekend!

Une organisation formidable. Merci à Simon, Kim et à toute l'équipe pour leur gentillesse et dévouement. Je suggérai l'ajout d'un ravitaillement en haut de la grande côte.

Competing in an Ironman 70.3 in Rwanda was amazing. The bike course was tough but beautiful. I'm unsure that we should have been swimming in Lake kivu with the danger of Bilharzia around the corner (and no information is provided around this danger). The running item was a bit late during the day and so it was boiling hot by the time we started our half marathon. And for that heat to be present and only 2 aid stations to be there,t hat wasn't enough by far. I would recommend that race to start at 7am, not 8am as it would make a big difference. I would recommend participants to prepare well for snacks and water during the run and get adequate medicine to combat bilharzia after the race. Other than that, the experience is one of a life time so i would 100% recommend to compete!

It was so good that I think about coming again in 2025. And Rwanda itself impressed me an made me to print fantastic photoalbum about our trip.

Roads were super, though the run would have done with an extra aid point given the sudden increase in heat we experienced
