This race is HOT! I mean HOT!!!!! But it is a truly amazing event. Really well organised, a 1 loop bike course with some tough little climbs but mostly smooth rolling roads. The swim is spectacular and the transition is really well laid out. The run is brutal. No shade, next to a lake. Did I mention it was hot? The whole race is extremely well executed and what this race really has going for it is how easy they make it for the athletes. Bike transfers from the boat to your hotel, to the race, back to your hotel, to the boat. It really makes it very easy. The only issue with this race is that Bintan Island isn't cheap. Last time I did this race I only stayed the night before the race and took a boat back to Singapore the day of the race.

It was my first IRONMAN 70.3. My concern was the weather but luckly it was not that bad. Swim was so nice, just like a swimming pool, which able to swin like a fish, so smooth. Bike was hilly but not too much. Decending was so cool! Loved the local kids' cheers. They really give ...

It was my first IRONMAN 70.3. My concern was the weather but luckly it was not that bad. Swim was so nice, just like a swimming pool, which able to swin like a fish, so smooth. Bike was hilly but not too much. Decending was so cool! Loved the local kids' cheers. They really give me energy. I wish we will have more communication with them next year. Run was little bit annoying. Flat and nice surface course along artifical lake but boring and very hot because of lack of shade. Overall it was so nice including organization and logistics. I strongly recommend to stay at official hotels. You can concentrat more on race.
